What the Chess update patch should look like
7K View2022-07-27Hoplite is roguelike strategy board game that should have Chess's update patch (if it had any). If you're new to this type of genre, it basically has the fundamentals of Chess, but it offers more movement to traverse through the board to get to the next level.
It may seem intimidating but, Hoplite does not have the same learning curve of Chess. However, it still has the enough difficulty for beginners to learn and for enthusiast to enjoy.
This game will not get boring because the game's AI play against you with varying difficulty in each Depth (Level). The enemy placement and the character's kit will continue to evolve the deeper you progress to the dungeon. I can see myself playing Hoplite in my commute or me time. This game has every rights to be worth checking out and play.

Hoplite makes you take strategic decisions on when and where to move your single character by predicting the moves of computer-controlled characters. This, though tricky, is quite easy once you properly and neatly understand the game mechanics. It's doesn't take too much time to complete the dungeons. It would be nice to be able to save progress at certain depths (maybe there is, I've only gotten down to 16 so far), so when you need to stop playing you don't lose progress. Enemy types abide by a strict set of rules and the more you play the better you can predict what the right moves may be, but the random boards, increasing difficulty, and customizable skills that you unlock as you play. There is Some challenging achievements, Overall i enjoy the old school upgrade system.

Hoplite is an interesting Roguelike and strategy game, in which the player is encouraged to use his best strategies on the field.
Despite being somewhat simple, it is a game that manages to entertain the player for a while.
Regarding technical aspects:
-The gameplay is pretty cool and fun once you get the hang of it, the roguelike elements help with the diversity of the gameplay, but it gets boring with time.

The game helps the players to practice their critical thinking and problem solving skills which is a beneficial for those who are planning to try this. Unfortunately, the graphics comes as an important role in modern apps and games wherein Hoplite lacks of. The visual representation are too simple that even animation are too plain. Overall, this games may not compete with the current ones, but for those players who would like play a simple game in their phones or tabets during their breaktime, this game might come in handy. #TapTapExploreS1
