On July 22nd, our first Crossover Traveler(s), Tarara and Pururu, will be making their official debut in Flash Party! In the Detective Event earlier, did you figure out who the culprits behind the Metropolis Outage are? (Chilli: I’m innocent! It’s not me...)
Looking back on our global crossover event with Tarara... When we started considering the various possibilities of Corssover IP a year ago, we found Tarara, a Super Gamer Girl who’s passionate and full of life. To invite a game-lover such as Tarara to the world of Flash Party to experience the excitement of fighting games must be fun!
Tarara and Pururu clicked with the idea right away. They decided in a snap to depart from Tap Planet and join this metagalaxy festival on the battle stage of Flash Party.
This is not the first time Tarara has traveled to a Game World. How should we manifest Tarara’s charisma in a fighting game? After many close discussions with Tarara and Pururu, to bring the pair’s tacit cooperation into play, we have developed several distinctive fighting styles:
(Early designs)
After looking at these designs, do you have a personal favorite?
Tarara would engage in combat directly in some designs of the three fighting styles. In others, she summons Pururu to play out her tactics. In the end, both of them want to fight side by side, so our designer has tailored an ultimate fighting style to suit the partners after lots of fine-tunings: Tarara would be the person doing the fighting with Pururu as her assistant. Their fighting style has two different forms.
(Designer working on Tarara’s new look for her debut in Flash Party)
Little did one think, upon inviting Tarara and Pururu to Flash Party, they have coincidentally ended up as the “Mystique T” behind the Metropolis Blackout.
The story starts when the two friends are fresh off the boat and have just arrived in the Metropolis. Pururu’s battery was down to a critical level, so Tarara tried to connect Pururu with the Metropolis power. Not realizing the voltage difference, Pururu became a bottomless pit that kept absorbing Metropolis’ electricity without being able to charge fully. Finally, the Star Detective Team reached Tarara and brought her a power converter, solving the case with a happy ending.
After things had settled down, Tarara was finally able to make her debut on the stage. Super Gamer Tarara is ready for battle!
Tarara has brought her unique fighting mechanism to Flash Party: “Upgrade” After landing her special skills (B series) on the opponent, Tarara acquires EXP and becomes Upgraded when she accumulates enough EXP. Before the Upgrade, Pururu assists as a small sphere floating in the air. After the upgrade, Pururu will transform into a giant robot and assist Tarara in launching various challenging Combos.
Tarara is a Super Gamer Girl who loves all kinds of games. Her colorful skills are filled with exciting gaming elements, almost like playing a game from another genre. I would expect nothing less from Tarara!
(Tarara has brought us her pixel-art style special effects)
For example, Tarara’s Neutral B feels like a musical game. In which she performs QTE based on the timing of an outer ring coinciding with a small central ball and tosses Pururu in various trajectories. Tarara’s Side B and Down B attacks with different pixel weapons. When Tarara swings her pixel sword forward, she looks like a Hero coming out of the classic role-playing games. Now, Tarara and Pururu are too eager to meet you in-game, so we will leave the rest of the details for you to discover!
