NetEase Games' Total Revenue Up 15% Year-over-year
6K View2022-08-19NetEase today announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2022, which ended on June 30. The net revenue for the second quarter was 23.2 billion RMB (3.4billion USD), up 12.8% year-over-year, with a net income of 4.666 billion RMB(696.7 million USD), according to the reports.
Net revenue from NetEase's Games was 18.1 billion RMB(2.58 billion USD), of which net revenue from online games was 16.8 billion RMB (2.4 billion USD).
What’s more, The Online Game Services Department has been renamed to Games and Related Value-Added Services since this quarter’s financial results.
NetEase’s game streaming platform CC Live was also adjusted from Innovation Industries to Games and Related Value-Added Services.

NetEase and Blizzard Issued Statements on Suspending Most Blizzard Game Services in China

Blizzard Entertainment said in a statement on November 16 that it will suspend most of its Blizzard game services in China due to the expiration of the current licensing agreement with NetEase. The relevant services will be terminated on January 23, 2023.
In response to this statement, NetEase made an announcement on November 17. The developer thanked the "continuous support and love for Blizzard game products."

Tencent’s Games Revenue for China Domestic Market Hit 20.22 Billion USD in 2021, an Increase of 6%
Chinese game giant Tencent today released its financial report for Q4 and the full year of 2021. It reported an 6% increase of games revenue for the domestic market, with 128.8 billion CNY (~20.22 Billion USD), while its revenue for the overseas markets increased by 31%, to 45.5 billion CNY.
The China domestic market’s games revenue growth was driven by the impressive performance of Honor of Kings, Call of Duty Mobile, and Moonlight Blade Mobile, but restricted by the limited revenue of Dungeon and Fighters, and Game for Peace.
