If Predecessor feels familiar to you it's because it is. Initially developed by Epic games and called Paragon, this third person MOBA game has been brought back from the dead. The game is now being developed by a new team and is in early access. The game is on PC currently and has gorgeous graphics. The attention to detail is there and one of my favorite scenes is this waterfall you can see off to the side of the battlefield. Predecessor delivers the core gameplay you would find with any MOBA style game. The game has traditional lanes with continuous minions flowing down them. Your objective is to destroy the enemy's core while at the same time protecting your own.
Although it's in early access, the game still features many different characters for you to choose from. The artwork on the heroes is beautiful and highly detailed. The heroes all play different and feel very unique to their own. The characters have several different roles ranging from tanks to support to DPS. Each hero has several different abilities that can also be leveled up as the game progresses. After destroying minions and other various objects on the map you earn coins. These coins can be used to help power up your hero by buying items in the shop. You can buy items to increase a variety of your stats. This brings tons of fun and customization to the game allowing you to try different builds with different heroes.
Some things I didn't like about the game was the buy menu. It felt clustered with too much information on the screen at once. It can feel overwhelming and intimidating to new players. The game also doesn't have any kind of tutorial yet to explain things. If your new to the MOBA genre you won't have any idea on what is going on. Now the game is only in early access so I understand it will lack features. These are just a few things I hope will be added with the game's development. I also hope to see a ranked mode as well. Monetization wise early access will cost you roughly between 25-40 USD depending on the version you choose. The game also had a store menu, but it was not clickable. I assume they will sell things like cosmetics in that shop.
Overall, I think it's a great game and hope it has huge success this time around. If you love MOBA's then I defiantly suggest you jump into early access. However, if you are new to the MOBA genre then you may want to wait for a more official release.
