Idle James: Hyper Hero is a game that I surprisingly enjoyed... For the most part. This game says it's an idle game, but surprisingly it's a lot more than just that.
Gameplay wise this game has you control James, your hero main character,
and you must click or tap furiously on the screen to do your main attack. This attack is not auto, what is auto is your spells. These will cast behind you, weirdly enough, a shame because I was trying to build a mage type of character but in the end I still had to spam my sword. So I was forced to also level up the sword tree as well as the magic tree.
Eventually I was pretty strong enough to clear most things pretty easily, but I got to say the best part of the game was the fact that I could find gear from the loot chests, and that the gear itself was able to be visible on your hero. So when you get new gear and equip it, it would change to look like the new armor.
This alone was driving me to keep playing to see if I could look pretty cool.
Visually this game is pretty simple but it's very nice. I do love the armor designs and the fact that a lot of the monsters have santa hats since it's that season. A nice touch.
Overall I'd say that Idle James: Hyper Hero is a fun game that while it says is an idle game, felt more like a tapping game with idle elements with a lot of being hands on when it came to combat and builds of your character. It could have been cooler if when you spec in a mage talent tree, mayber your character turned into a mage instead of staying as a knight type.
