Alliance Alive HD Remastered has a mobile port version and boy is it bad! The initial cost is $11.99 USD and it is not worth it. The biggest problem is the controls. They are so bad that it completely destroys any fun you may have. It took me 10 minutes before I even Figured out that there was a virtual D pad on the left side of your device that only shows up when you leave you thumb on the screen in that area. On the right side you need to push the screen to bring up a strange looking circle that has you push the middle circle to confirm a choice or slide your finger up to cancel or back out of a menu.
Trying to navigate menus with this method is frustrating and confusing because sometimes you can just simply click on an arrow, and it will take you to another screen. The combination of touch screen controls with random D pad navigation throws off the game completely. The game has a great story but a ton of text to read. There are no voice overs, yet you see the characters mouths move. It's super weird to see and distracts you from getting into the story atmosphere. The graphics aren't bad, they give you a old school final fantasy feel. The battle system is done well and gives you lots of options for different ways to attack enemies. The RPG element is present and the best part about the game.
The game also has some puzzles that add some fun to the mix. Another Problem I had was a lack of sense of direction. I never knew what I should be doing or going unless I followed the dialogue of the characters. There was no clear indication of my objective. A simple quest menu or icon telling me where to go or what to do would make a huge difference. Overall, I think it is slightly above average, but all of the flaws really hurt your experience with the game. I don't really think it's worth the 12 dollars. If you see it on sale for 5 dollars, then I would say go for it.
