Isoland 2: Ashes Of Time is a tall order for a non-linear puzzle game. This puzzle point and click game is probably one of my favorite in the genre. So What is
Isoland 2: Ashes of Time this game is essentially a story-driven point-and-click adventure game with tons of puzzles for iOS and Android devices.
So let's just say that when it begins, you're on a remote island and have to figure out, well, everything: where to go, what to do, how to get a door open, etc. Players have flexibility to pursue any puzzles they want in any order, and can also change the flow of time to uncover clues to help them solve some of the brainteasers they're confronted with. Eventually, you'll put the pieces together and discover what's happening on this strange little island.
The actual story is something i will not spoil in this article and i highly recommend readers to go beat the game. Speaking of beating the game, the actual run time of the game is about 4 hours and there are 2 actual endings and the first ending tasks you to restart the game and beat it again to get the actual ending. The story slaps you right in the middle of an adventure that you must uncover the secrets of an old woman husband on how exactly he learned how to time travel and youll be following his footsteps to uncover all the secrets to the story. Due to how difficult this game can be i do not recommend this to anyone who gets frustrated easily or looking for a bit more action with there puzzles.
The story is very beautiful and well put together making me want to continue no matter how hard the puzzles can be. There are plenty of guides online to help players who do get stuck but be warned this game switches the puzzles for everyone so some puzzles may be a bit different than the next person. If you did want to play this game just know it is backed behind a very small paywall on steam for $2.99USD and if you're on mobile $1.99USD. The Graphics are pretty good, had to do some research but the graphics are hand drawn and i love how uncanny it does feel reminds me of some cartoon shows back when i was much younger. My entire playthrough was on Steam since for some reason my Google Pixel 7 wasn't compatible even though my device is still very knew since the Pixel 7 came out not even 2 months ago.
Keep in mind when you are playing this game to pay attention to every detail in the background and listen closely to the NPCs on this mysterious island. I Do recommend taking notes or pictures of certain backgrounds youll come across because it will help later down the line in your search for answer. Some puzzles dont require a certain clue just a decent understanding of pattern recognition.
