It’s the end of the year and a great time to wave goodbye to the past 2022 full of unforgettable gaming memories. As some kind of wrap-up, I invited some players active on our official TapTap Discord server to recommend a game. Many of them made some really nice nominations with well-drafted reviews. Into the Dead 2

The zombie action classic Into the Dead franchise is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a series of big moves and annoucements. The brand new update and optimization brought to Into the Dead 2 definitely make many ITD fans feel ready to play this game again. And great news! The developmenet team just officially announced that there would be an Into the Dead 3, so be sure don’t miss this one!
“With the ten-year anniversary Into the Dead 2s graphics were bumped substantially, most levels no longer have a very close render fog in the main story for instance, and in general, the game looks sharp. With the updates to into the dead 2s environment in the main story it looks very cinematic.”
Valiant Hearts The Great War

There are many games out there depicting wars, but this one’s definitely one of the best. Inspired by real letters and other historical materials from WW1, Valiant Hearts is a powerful tale of war that guides you to witness life and death, sacrifice and survival, and love and seperation.
“It doesn't muddle the message by allowing the players to murder anyone in their path, it tells a compelling and heart wrenching story without the need for bloodshed which isn't something that can be said about 90% of the war games out there.”

What will you do if you find yourself trapped inside a studio for 7 days only with a cursed painting of a girl, and the only thing you can refer to is the note from past victims? Whatever you do, DO NOT UPSET HER! A game with amazing gameplay and well-designed story that is worth a try.

Duskwood - Detective Story

A realistic criminal story featuring real people… yourself included. Investigate the case, collect evidence, talk to different characters and finally discover the ultimate truth. Definitely worth a try for people who are into immersive detective stories and would love to practice their braincells.
“This game has actual people acting and those scenes are performed well. The difficult mini-games that gate progress is hard, but it isn't impossible or overly dependent on user spending money on items to clear the lvl like candy crush.”
Pokémon UNITE

Imagine the combination of cute little Pokémons and the intensive MOBA gameplay. That is Pokémon UNITE. Though there are already tons of MOBAs out there in the market, it’s never a bad idea to join the team battle featuring this very much beloved classic IP.
“But, is the core gameplay good? To put it simply, yes. This was the first MOBA I played and it was a great introduction into the genre with shorter 10 minute battles and less complicated controls than your classic LoL or Dota.”

A lot of bad things have happened in 2023, but you know what's been good? Video games! While the games industry has seen a frustrating amount of instability for developers, the actual games they've put out have been incredible. In fact, we'd argue this has been one of the best years for new games in the past decade—maybe ever!
With all that in mind, narrowing down our favorites wasn't easy. Last week, TapTap's editors and other staff members put our heads together and voted on the games we absolutely couldn't forget and felt deserved special honors, even in a year full of amazing releases.

Jay’s top ten games of 2023
This year has been full of new experiences for me. I’ve always been more into competitive multiplayer games, so getting to play a lot of unique and unusual single-player titles has really changed my perspective and made me want to try out a ton more games. If you’d asked me at the start of 2023, I never would have guessed that I’d play some of these games I’m about to talk about, let alone rate them as the best of the year. I’m grateful to have experienced the spectacle offered by these excellent titles. Here are the ten best games I played in 2023.

Author likedAtelier Ryza 1 & 2. A relaxing and fun adventure, filled with alchemy, combat, and beautiful environments. Highly recommend it especially with the 3rd one releasing in February 2023.
