Shadow Slayer: The Dark Knight is the premium version of the game Shadow Slayer: The Dark Impact. And for the most part I enjoyed it but somethings come to mind that just could be improved on. Gameplay wise you seem to be able to control 2 characters, a melee male character and a spell caster female character.
The skills are gradually unlocked as you progress through the game and you can do things such as double jump and dash. Though I did feel like the dash could be improved on, It didn't seem as good as having an actual dodge feature. Though it was okay I suppose. Each mission costs keys, and they cost of the keys for each mission is 10 keys, which I personally think is way too expensive. You do gain 10 keys per level up, but if any of you have ever played these types of games where missions cost a currency to enter, you all know that at some point you will not gain levels fast enough to gain enough keys to progress any further.
I personally think 10 keys per mission is pretty steep, but I did notice you did increase your total amount of keys as well as you leveled up. But I'm still not a big fan of this procedure anyway. There is also a dungeon system where you can earn gold for completing it, you can do it twice for free and do an extra turn which will cost you. One thing that bothered me a fair amount is also how weak the mage girl is compared to the melee male character. Even when I gave her 4 items of gear, and the melee guy had only 2 items of gear, her overall combat power was still super low. Which I found pretty weird for a mage type character.
She felt severely under powered and I hesitated using her unless I had no choice. There is a gacha in this game, and it seems to be all about getting even better armor through it. So there isn't any actual character gacha, it's all about the armor gacha in this game. Visually though, this game is fantastic looking. I absolutely love the art style and think its very good to look at. The character art is gorgeous and the in game models aren't that bad either, though I don't understand why there is a bit of difference from the character art and the in game models.
The in game models being shadows, but the art work on the other hand is not. Regardless I really love the character art work design and it's pretty impressive. Overall I'd say that Shadow Slayer: The Dark Knight is an okay game, that I think could have had a lot more going for it considering its a premium purchase, though I feel like the only real benefit of the premium version is the lack of ads, and the occasional x10 premium gacha ticket. For 4.99USD I was expecting a lot more than that for the premium benefits.
those Shadow based 2D hack and slashes are pretty common. this is the first one I actually really wanted just by watching it though.

Question, do I get to shoot things?
