Tacape is a deck-builder card mobile game with a good story content. Honestly I loved how the game story plot started in this game where our main character (Lorena) goes out in the woods to find her lost little brother. Suspecting that mysterious folk lore creatures might have kidnapped her little brother (Lucas), she carries an axe prepared to mow down anyone who she encounters in her path. This did get me quite excited for the game.
On the other hand, we can also play as Lucas trying our best to get out of the woods to meet with his older sister. Anyways, I really loved the concept artwork of the mythical folk monster creatures that both encounter inside the scary forest. I think the game beautifully presented the cards, battle options and adventure progression. But, you will have to purchase the game if you want to play the full version of the game.
In the gameplay, you will be given about 5 cards to play with. Each card has a mana cost indicated to it. Usually we have about 4 mana to spend and its upto us on how tactfully we spend those 4 mana points across the different cards that we are gonna use in the battle. I really loved the card design but the card selection proved to be a bit problematic time to time as when I was trying to use the selected card, other card would be used instead. This really gave me some bitter feeling time to time.
The boss battles are pretty awesome in this game and they are definitely quite tricky to take down. I really loved how this game made a good use of front and back row to place the enemies. The cards are sensitive to the placing/location of the enemies. Some cards can only target rear enemies and some can only target the front enemies and some can target all. After the turn has passed, the enemies can change their location, making it challenging for us.
After a successful battle, we can get varieties of card options out of which we can only select one. We can use the selected card later on in the upcoming battles. Thus there is a good sense of adventure progression in this game where we keep collecting good stuffs to prepare nicely for the upcoming battles.
Unfortunately, this game does not come totally free. You will have to purchase various adventure modes (Lorena and Lucas POV) to play the full game.
Overall, this game is definitely quite awesome with some unique gameplay features. I really loved the folk creature artwork in this game which gave a good goosebump vibes and they do resonate with the story plot as well. Anyways, I do recommend you guys to try this game out! At least the first adventure stage is free to play. Just check out if you really wanna invest in this game or not. Cheers!
