Hey, mighty warriors of Asgard! If you are looking for an Action RPG, and your dearest wish for a game includes “Has fast paced combat where I can kill enemies easily”, “Can gain AFK rewards even only after a short away”, “Lets me play as superheroic characters”, “Has my favorite rouge-like elements”, and “If the game is f2p-friendly, it’ll be perfect”... Congratulations! Myth: Gods of Asgard will fulfill your every wish! I’m your guiding angel, Veir, and today I will be talking about the God of Winter in Norse Mythology—Ullr.
Character Intro
Ullr is the son of Sif, and is the God of Hunting who is always accompanied by cold and snow. Wearing snow boots and a heavy leather coat, he carries his great bow and quiver full of lethal arrows as he hunts in the mountains. Ullr is considered the marksman among the pantheon of gods. Ullr has command over the wind and the snow, and rides the Aurora that illuminates the nights in the North.
Character Overview
As an archer, Ullr is able to attack enemies from long range. Combined with his massive damage-dealing skills, he is capable of taking out enemies from outside their attack range. His weakness lies in his mobility and survivability in the field, as well as a steeper learning curve for controlling him.
Character Specialties
Out of the five current heroes in this version, Ullr possesses the longest attack range, which is complemented by his high attack power. Whether in campaign or in arena, he’s a very popular hero.
- Normal Attack 1 [Precise Shot], and Powerful Skill 3 [Wide-Range Barrage] will grant an attack buff, drastically increasing his damage output.
- The first time Powerful Skill 1 [Freezing Barrage] hits and deals damage, it can inflict Freeze on the enemy for 2s. At Lv. 3, the duration of Freezing Barrage will be doubled.
- Special Skill 3: [Phantom Shot] can summon [Hunter's Shadow]. Every time you cast Dash, 1 [Hunter's Shadow] will be spawned. At Lv. 2, you can summon multiple [Hunter's Shadows] and copy your next Special Attack. But do take note that [Phantom Shot] has a relatively long CD of 6s. You need to find the right timing to use this skill.
The above are some skill tips. You can adjust your skills based on actual battle scenarios during the preparation phase.
Playing in Actual Battles
Ullr is the God of Winter and Archery. Controlling him comes with a certain degree of difficulty. Out of all the 5 heroes of the current version, he has the highest operating difficulty. However, his damage and attack range is top-tier, so it is still recommended to unlock him and try using him. When using him, it is important to realize that Ullr, as a long-range hero, almost has zero displacement capabilities, which makes him less mobile than other heroes. Caution is needed when encountering high-DPS bosses or those that have control abilities. Make sure to gain some distance first before attacking.
The first thing to take note of is that his normal attack is only a three-attack combo, compared to the 4-attack combos of other heroes. However, since his range is so far, and the fact that his skill has many stackable effects, his damage output is pretty good after all. [Tracking Arrows] unleashed by Normal Attack 2 [Hunter’s Shot] can track enemies from long range and continuously attack them up to 18 times. At higher levels [Tracking Arrow] can also mark the enemy with an Arrow Mark. When the Mark reaches 15 stacks, it triggers a burst damage that deals 70% damage per Arrow.
Secondly, the CD for Ullr’s Powerful attacks is only 1s. Players can tap and drag the skill to aim and hit the enemy with accuracy. Ullr’s three Powerful Skills are very practical. Not only can Powerful Skill 1 [Freezing Barrage] inflict Freeze on the enemy, but also Powerful Skill 2 [Tracking Barrage] marks the enemies with Hunter's Mark after they are hit with the [Arrow Barrage]. This mark inflicts [Rime Arrows] to the enemies every 0.6s, dealing damage equal to 55% of Attack each time. Powerful Skill 3 [Wide-Range Barrage] is a very powerful AoE Skill. It can unleash a slow-moving Arrow Barrage, dealing a huge amount of AoE damage to enemies both in the front and back of the hero. At Lv. 3, the attack radius is increased by 3 times. Players who prefer long range-attacks should not miss out on this hero!
Finally, when Ullr’s Special Skill 2 [Rapid Fire] hits a target, he will enter into a No Cooldown mode, allowing Ullr to use his Special Skills 4 times in succession. This mode can be enabled once every 8s, and it's very effective in stages where there are a huge number of monsters.
Divine Recommendations
When preparing cards for hero skills, in addition to matching with the hero specialties, we must also take note of the special effects that come with the active skill cards. When choosing passive skill cards, it's better to enhance the special effects of the active skill cards. For example, for Baldr’s [Light Beam] effect, choosing passive cards such as [Scary Nightmare] and [Radiant Light] that also have Light Beam effects can greatly boost your fighting capacity.
For the current version, here are some suggestions for Ullr’s build:
P.S.: Of course, if you're a veteran player, feel free to create a deck build that's unique to you!
- Main Divine Power Card: Odin, Baldr, Heimdallr and Valkyrie are your options, but do prioritize Odin and Baldr.
- Normal Attack: When you choose Normal Attack 2 [Hunter's Shot], it’s recommended to use Sif to greatly increase damage capacity or use Frigg to summon Maids.
- Powerful Attack: When you choose Powerful Skill 3 [Wide-Range
Barrage], you can pair it with any card that offers damage effects. The enormous attack radius of [Wide-Range Barrage] can make the best use of these effects. For example: Odin's [God Punishment] or Baldr’s [Light Beam] effect.
- Special Attack: It’s recommended to pair Special Skill 1 [Multi-Shot] with Frigg cards to enhance the HP recovery effect.
The above sums up an introduction to Ullr’s skills. Players interested, do give him a try!
