I recently had the pleasure of playing Summoners War Chronicles, and for the most part, I enjoyed my time in this game. Gameplay wise you can pick between 3 different classes.
That are sadly gender locked... It's 2023, can we ditch gender locks already? And from those 3 classes you have a healer, mage and a tank class. I chose the mage class, and it seemed pretty fun.
There is 4 skills you can use, and an ultimate skill. And the weapon of the mage can be swapped to a different weapon of a different element. In the beginning, the game tricks you into thinking there is no auto pathing or auto questing. But I was not surprised when the prompt came up telling me I could know auto quest in the game.
And the game would progress basically on its own at this point in the game. You do get a mount as well, that will auto mount for you when you select the next quest point. Honestly, after playing Yeager Hunter Legend, which had zero auto in the game whatsoever, I felt a bit spoilt. It was disappointing to see yet another game that relies on auto.
Visually the game is cute and cartoony, and I love all the bright colours. Overall I'd say that Summers War Chronicles is an okay game that I enjoyed some light fun in. While the auto completely ruins it in my opinion, if you just play it casually then I think you should be fine.
The gacha monsters is an issue, and I'm sure will be a huge issue at end game, I can predict people demanding certain 5 star monsters or not accepting players in the high end content. I wouldn't recommend playing this seriously unless you plan to whale out on this game. Otherwise I highly recommend just taking it easy and enjoying it for a cute anime game.
