Crying Suns is a tactical roguelike set in space that takes a bit long to get going, but once it got started fully immersed me with its compelling story. The interactive choices, graphics, and sound design all combined to really invest me in the narrative. Though it's frequently compared with FTL: Faster Than light, Crying Suns is a title I found unique and definitely plan on keeping in my iPhone game library.

With that said, the game is really hard... I died... a lot, but that's kinda the point. I appreciated how the story wove that into the gameplay. I woke up as a clone of an admiral, but after each death, Not only did I want to continue playing because of the story, but also the promise of more ships and weapons!

I particularly appreciated selecting officers and sending them on missions while exploring how the world has changed from the one my character knew twenty years ago. Give this one a try if you're looking for something atmospheric and interesting. Even if you don't keep with it through the whole playthrough, it's worth waking up in the mind of this clone and playing through the first time entirely from his narrative experience. Set this one to easy if you're mainly invested in the story because it's hard!

A strategy rogue-lite with an emerging dynamic storyline | First Impressions - Crying Suns
Crying Suns' narrative themes are boasted as having been inspired by Dune and Foundation, in which for any hardcore sci-fi fans, know that this is probably two of the best source materials a story could be inspired by. The main story premise is that the game's protagonist, Admiral Ellys Idaho, or rather a clone of him, is awoken by the last surviving OMNI named Kaliban— AIs originally built to enable mankind to run a galactic empire. They both soon find out that Kaliban is the last of his kind and that the Empire has collapsed and is in shambles, prompting the duo to embark on a journey to find out what happened.

Clone2048 Review—The Most Bonkers Game of Clones That Will Knock You off Your Feet
Reading Time: 2 min 8 secs When the same mate of mine recommended yet another game, nothing could have prepared me for what I'd soon be encountering.  Just in case you've missed it, Clone2048 is a tower-defending game developed by a Chinese developer, Ostrich Studio. There, you've gotta brace yourself, for you will be braving through endless waves of mutants, which are gradually on their way to becoming more indestructible and absurd evolutionary monstrosities.
