War Robots: Multiplayer Battles - A SLUGGISH Mech PVP Game

So, I tried out War Robots: Multiplayer Battles the other day, and I was looking forward to this one to be honest, it looked pretty cool. Reminded me of Mechwarrior, but online PVP only.

Sadly I was disappointed. Gameplay wise You can choose several mechs to use, once you unlock them. Though after the first two, you will need to save your gems and in game currency to buy new ones. You can upgrade your weapons and change them too, which I thought was pretty cool. But it's very easy to spend too much in game currency on one weapon and not on the other I felt.

The multiplayer combat felt slow though. Like, really slow. There is no tension in the combat whatsoever. You can only move your aiming from left to right. The auto targeting will deal with the up and down aiming. And I couldn't find a dodge button, but it didn't seem to matter because once the enemy is locked on to you, it's just a matter of whos weapons are stronger to take you down first.

You can also capture locations as well, but it seems easier to just take out all the enemy players. At least it is for now. There was only a deathmatch mode when I played. I kept grinding it many times until I got bored. You also gain chests which you can unlock, though unlocking them has a timer. A long one. Same with your mech. When you want to upgrade your mech, there is also a timer.

I'm not a fan of that at all. Visually the game looks okay, but nothing too impressive. The game says its a remaster, but I never played the original so I can't compare the two. I did notice there is no visual graphics settings though. Seems a shame.

So what you see is what you get in this game. Overall I'd say that War Robots felt like a super repetitive grind fest with lackluster combat that felt slow and sluggish, and lacked any intense PVP action. This game is a huge pass for me.

Mech Master - A Quick Game Review
In this turn-based RPG game Mech Master, you can participate in intense PVP combat. The gameplay has no overarching theme and is relatively simple to play because of its straightforward combat. I really appreciate how the robots were depicted in the game; it looked great and was possible to see them in many different ways. Anyway, in terms of the gameplay, all you have to do is choose a pilot to control those mechas, choose your squad, and get ready for battles. As this is an online game, make careful you properly protect your team as you take turns assaulting.

First of all, I would like to point out that the graphics, mechanics and designs are all incredible. The main problem is the fact that the game gets worse with every major update.  The balance in this game is pretty much nonexistent, with higher rarity weapons being ten times stronger than the starter weapons. I get that the company is trying to make money to keep the game going, but you simply cannot ignore the recent balance change where they specifically nerfed nearly every single grey and green mech and buffed all of the purple and yellow ones.

I dig giant robots, but this mech tactics game is a mixed bag - Phantom Brigade Quick Review
PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? Play it if you're a fan of games like Battletech, but be aware that it has some problems. Phantom Brigade features awesome-looking mechs and a unique combat system, but performance issues and unintuitive gameplay make it a frustrating experience. There’s a lot to like here, especially if you love mechs, but it falls short of other games in the turn-based tactics genre. TIME PLAYED
