Project: Muse-Rhythm Star is a music rhythm arcade mobile game with very challenging gameplay contents. I really enjoyed all the songs provided in this game and I found the gameplay to be pretty hard even in the easy mode. This game did remind me of guitar hero where you need to tap on certain icons once they pass through a certain circle area. With every new music content comes varieties of gameplay sequence. Songs are categorized in terms of their star value. Higher star value songs are harder and more challenging.
Looking into the gameplay, this game right away offer the challenging arcade experience where you need to be very good at tapping on the icons once they pass through the circles. Your timing determines the quality of your tap. There are various types of icons that need different type of tapping. Small icons just need single tap while the long icons needs to be tap and hold for a certain time. If you are good at hitting icons falling from the top to bottom with proper timing then the combo meter will start to pop up. The combo meter keeps racking up as long as you keep hitting the keys at the right timing.
For the beginners, there is a good tutorial system in this game as well. I really appreciated the tutorial content which nicely explained all the gaming mechanics quite well.
I found the gameplay to be quite redundant compared to other similar games that were released in the past. But this game does provide lots of options on your gameplay mode. You can increase the gameplay speed and the difficulty of your game as well. As you clear the easier difficulties with good ratings then you can unlock harder contents. Personally, I found even the easy mode content to be extremely hard. The music keys kept falling down on a very high speed pace. I kept missing a lot of keys and got kicked out of the gameplay quite fast even at easy mode and 1.0x speed. And once you get kicked out, you are sometimes presented with an unwanted advertisement video.
There are about 16 songs in this game with different difficulty ratings. You can try all of them out and see how good your tapping skills are.
Overall, this game is very hard and challenging in my opinion. It may be easy for you guys though. None the less, I do recommend this game to you guys for the high challenge fun that this game provides. There are lots of amazing songs that you can enjoy while being busy smashing those music note keys. You can even check out the rankings with other players in this game. Let me know in the comments what you think of this game. Cheers!
