I have played the original torchlight games and thought they were good. I
decided to give this one a shot to see what the developers could come up with
and it doesn't disappoint. The game play is just as smooth as expected and
skills are central to any build. I just started exploring and the story is much
better than the original games.
There are two areas that this game could use improvement on however. First is
the controller support. You can successfully play the game with a controller but
there are several points where the controller just won't cut it. Choosing skills
and talents for one. Equipping gear to the offhand is another area you need the
mouse for. It should be simple enough to let the player select things with the
controller.
They try to make it more functional by mapping the right analog stick to the
mouse but this is awkward and clunky at best. Instead their needs to be a cursor
that the d-pad controls. I would find it more useful if the right analog stick
would scroll the minimap or something of that nature.
The other area that needs a little work is the introduction video/background. I
have been playing for several hours and am not quite sure what a 'crow' is or
how this 'bond' works. It's really a minor thing as I'm sure I'll figure it out
as the story progresses but at no point do I feel like I have been brought up to
speed.

Torchlight: Infinite Review - Immersive and Addictive Gameplay with Some Flaws
Torchlight: Infinite is a mobile game that successfully captures the essence of Diablo-like games. It has a complex threshold, long-term investment, and a satisfying feeling when you finally form a powerful character. The game's biggest positive feedback comes from the sense of satisfaction when you cut through hordes of monsters or defeat a boss. Currently, it's quite addictive and I spent a good amount of time playing it.

Torchlight: Infinite, from the short time I've played it (so far) brings the joys of the Torchlight universe that I came here for. As the game is in beta, I won't post a full review (or try to), however keep going in the direction you are, and I'm sure on full release everyone will enjoy it. So far the graphics remind me of Torchlight 2, and the gameplay is in the Diablo style that I came to recognize and enjoy. Although a bit hand holding and less difficulty than I expected, possibly because of the point of the game I'm in.

A game worth being called Torchlight. I was 10 when I first played Diablo 2. Just imagine a skinny child who was farming day and night until his mother thought he was bewitched by the computer and need electroconvulsive therapy. there’re only 2 things that keep me so addicted at a young age. One is Diablo 2, another is Case Closed. I watched from the first episode to 500th + in a row. And the Torchlight 2 is the only product that I think is close to Diablo 2.
