Fake future is a unique game compared to most games in the market right now. But unique alone doesn't make a game good of course. But this game also has significant depth in its gameplay along with detailed worldbuilding and lore. It managed to keep my interests for quite some time compared to most other games. I'm currently playing it at the time of writing.
You assume the role of Hope, a girl in the far future who came to Earth, now a ruined planet, in hope of fulfilling her missions given by 'NASA' of this world. She's accompanied by her many cyberoids, robots that possess the memory of the humans they assume the form of.
It's one of the few city builder that doesn't shove PvP down your throat. The pixel art is really beautiful and the cyberpunk aesthetic might appeal to some people. The soundtracks are surprisingly good.
Cyberoids
These are characters you will be using. They are divided into 4 rarities and differed only in stats and some passive bonuses, but ultimately, each one of them is usable. This is mostly because each cyberoids have different specialty such as combat or crafting. Pulling dupes allow you to increase the stats and gain new passives for the cyberoids along with higher level cap.
Gameplay:
The gameplay is relatively simple, PvE, and divided into two mode; 1. City building mode, where you constantly craft materials to upgrade and build buildings or facilities and expand further and further. 2. Exploration mode, where you choose a cyberoid and go to the wilderness to find materials and progress through story missions. Combat can happen in both mode and it's basically 'stop the wheel, aim for critical hits'. There is also mini games in the city-building mode but it's very basic, like google's dinosaur kind of basic.
Monetisation:
Much like most modern games nowadays, there is gacha involved where you need to pull for cyberoids. But as far as I am aware, even the lowest tier character is usable enough and the game also provides free high tier characters if you finished some missions. Ads are optional and usually used to get a free pull, revive etc. So far, I think it's very F2P. The only thing I would complain is that the price of items in the store are pretty pricey compared to other games.
Overall, I highly recommend this game, especially if you've played and like games like Cookie Run Kingdom. But I suggest keeping this game as a side game where you login, do some daily tasks and queue some materials to be crafted, since it can be quite grindy and the constant crafting and upgrading means you need to micromanage pretty much everything which can lead to burnout and boredom.
