Punishing Gray Raven currently has the best action combat in a gaccha game. It's a game I played on day one and I came back to on 3 occasions but now, I have finally decided to let it go.
From my memory, the story didn't really pick steam for me until way late into chapter 15 and went on to get better and better with chapter 17 actually climaxing as one of the most impactful story chapter I read in a gaccha game. But then the story seems to take a 180 turn and focus on alternative timelines in chapter 18 like.....I don't really care and I lost interest again...
The action is great but it really is hard to build a competent team especially if u missed a certain unit that's core to a specific elemental team *cough* Lucia S *cough*. Coupled that with the character progression and building system just feeling extremely dull and grindy. As a result I just couldn't be bothered to build proper teams to tackle any of the endgame stuff.

In addition to these, each patch feels so dead once ur kinda caught up on the story and all u do is grind each day. (which i get is what every gaccha game ends up being but pgr feels extremely dull). Also the some of side or mini events feel extremely convoluted for no reason but perhaps this is a personal bias I have.

I hope their next game, Wuthering Waves will do away with the cons present in PGR and allow for more team building diversity and better progression system. I am placing my hopes on Kuro games next title as I finally step away from PGR.

here's The best gacha game that I've ever played. Even call it gacha is just a half true because get the new characters only need play the game constantly and without notice have enough for get them. Is amazing how F2P friendly is LMAO!!! Talking about the history, I'm novelist, so find a game with a well written story is... difficult sometimes. But then, I got PGR into my life. My god, the writers and scriptwriters are sooooo good controlling his story and his characters, every patch leading the star role to a different character or moving forward with the protagonist group, whatever the case, is amazing the constant evolution of the characters. And even the plot gaps get explained, if not now, in the future for sure (I'm saying this taking in count CN actual version and current story).

I never usually keep game reviews but this is an amazing game that made me change my mind on gacha games. This game has an interesting, compelling story that is amazingly written to pull you into the world making you want to learn more about it. Although the combat for the earlier characters are basic and mostly the same the newer characters are polished to the point that having them will change your perspective of the game. This is a testament to kuro's attention to the playerbase's feedback and their determination to push this game to its limit. It is also amazing how generous they are with the ability to unlock all characters as a f2p player. But there are some flaws with the game. Mainly being that for new players they will have to suffer for awhile before they get the good parts as the storytelling in the beginning is bad. This has been mitigated by the community with the grayravens.com website which is very useful with character guides and story summaries. The only other downside that this game has is that to get a fully functional team you need to play for multiple months if you start late. But this will be fixed in a year or so as there will be enough character selectors to get an entire team for new players. Overall this is an amazing game with amazing story and amazing characters although the old character designs are mostly bad, the new ones are so good it doesn't matter.

Been playing gacha games for 4-5 years now and by far,PGR is the only gacha that I've been playing with the same enthusiasm as day 1 for 2 years (I used to played on CN server) alongside FGO. A skill-based game heavily inspired from Nier,DMC and Soulsborne genre where they put the first priority on your SKILLS.They always test your skills first and then how much investment you have made. NOTE: PGR had collab with Nier Automata and 2B,A2 and 9s are actually playable characters.
