Battle Chasers: Nightwar is a game that is available on pretty much all consoles, PC and on mobile devices. This game is a premium game, coming in at 9.99USD but let me tell you, this game is definitely worth the price. The game opens up with some gorgeous 2D art animation and with a voice acted text scrawl, it introduces you to the story of the game.
You begin the game, playing as Gully. The daughter of the great warrior and leader of men, Aramus. Who has vanished. Gully has taken for herself the mighty gauntlets of her father, which give her super human strength. Along with her friends and defenders they head to the island Crescent Isle, where they hope to find out the mysteries of Mana, which seems to be amassing large amounts of Mana on the island.
Gameplay wise the game is a turn based RPG game with some elements of roaming on both the world map and the exploration zones. The world map is where you can travel from various place to place and come across monsters along the way. The exploration zones are areas on the map you can explore in more depths.
Here you can find things like treasure chests, bosses to fight and also perhaps continuations of the quests that you may be on. When jumping into combat, that's when the turn based mechanics come in to play. There are 4 combat tabs that you can choose from.
These are the "Actions", "Abilities", "Items" and finally the "Flee" tab. The "Actions" tab is where your basic attacks are. These cost no mana to use so can be cast as often as you like. The second tab "Abilities" is where your special moves are kept.
These attacks cost mana, and won't be cast on the same turn as you selected them. The third "Items" tab is for your various potions you can carry along with you. And the final tab is pretty straight forward, it's the option to pick if you want to flee the battle. Visually the game is gorgeous.
The art work is fantastic and highly detailed. The graphics on the character models is detailed in both the model design as well as the texture mapping. Even the overworld map traveling has a nice art style to it.
There is a very high level of quality in this game and it's good to see that the cost of the game is worth it in just the quality of the visuals alone, The combat animations are smooth and effects are also flashy. This game really is just very beautiful. Overall I'd say that Battle Chasers: Nightwar is an amazingly fun turn based RPG game.
With voice acting for most of the story and visuals that are outstanding. The gameplay is just super fun. I highly recommend this game to all who want to play it. The price may throw you off at first, but the game has great reviews when I looked it up. And I also think it's worth the cost as well. The game is available on other platforms too, so if you prefer to play it on console or PC, you can do that too.
