Rainbow Six Mobile, a messy beta.

Rainbow Six Mobile, a messy beta.

Rainbow Six Siege was originally a PC / Console shooter released in 2015, it is one of the most popular games Arcadey Tactical Shooters, originally being marketed as a tactical shooter, Siege is now known as a more arcadey, non-tactical shooter; However, Siege is still generally of slower pace than most arcade shooters and some people still play siege as a tactical CQB game. So that will be our question for today, how well does the newly ported Rainbow Six Siege Mobile hold up to the semi tactical nature of the core game.
Due note: This is a review for a game in early access, everything is subject to the change.
Device Specs:
Samsung A42 5G
4gb ram

The graphics look low poly even on high in certain areas, the gun mesh for one leaves a lot to the imagination, lacking a lot of detail on both low and high settings, do note I have not seen ultra settings outside of screen recordings and screenshots, but from those I will say it looks about the same or near identical to high. The first person meshes in general are also, sadly, bad, most lack any detail but colour, but let us say you are not into paying close attention to your gun and gloves, well then, let us break it down into section.
Environment, this will cover environmental objects outside of buildings, you can say this is a small focus of the game, I won't argue with you, but let us just point things out. Backdrop buildings are obviously painted meshes, cars are a brick, most objects lack detail on low and high, ultra looks about the same. In terms of environment the game is lacking from the only available map.

Indoors, this is where I will give the game most credit. While some areas are bad, it mostly looks good even on low, the shader is passable, the textures are passable, and it works for immersion in my personal opinion. While there is room for improvement, by this early look, it’s passable.
I won't review graphics further than this as this is a beta, so I will just say that it is passable, not great, not good, but passable. 5/10.

Also, optimization isn’t there yet, it frequently overheated my phone during my testing and it runs mostly on the cpu; However, this is most definitely subject to change. I also cannot complain as it mostly ran at a stable 50 fps on high and 55 on low with very rare fps drops, most notably when using gyroscope but that will be covered in a latter section. So I would give the optimization an overall, 7/10, it is almost good.

Personally, the gameplay is bad.The core siege mode is a first to 2 wins based mode, due to this matches will generally only last up to 10 minutes, the fastest match I observed was about 8 minutes. This low win condition removes any chance of a comeback if any team is bad, lose twice, it is game over, no ifs ands or buts.
The round time is also astonishingly low, everything happens in under two minutes, the preparation time and character selection make up at least half of the match. That isn’t without saying the chaos can be fun, but there isn’t much time to methodically think, as you would expect for a tac shooter, everything is fast, which can be fun in its own right. The gunplay could use some work, most guns feel like they have no recoil on attack, but on defence most guns turn into a bull.
The bots are pretty dumb mostly acting like shooting targets and the TTK is balanced to not just feel like an instant kill. (Something some people had issue with in Arena F2.)
Overall the game felt very fast and chaotic, nothing vaguely tactical other than breaching.
I have not tested the TDM mode so I cannot review it.
Now for the bell and whistle.
The bell, haptic feedback is pretty basic but overdone, it is just vibrations, a lot of actions will cause your phone to become a massager, not too bad if you are one that likes to have a hand massage mid game. (I am a console gamer so I am very used to my gaming session paw massage.) Though be warned, that a lot of actions will cause a lot of vibrations, even distant gunfire in some cases.
The whistle, Gyroscope. Gyroscope is poorly implemented, I am not sure if it was due to haptic feedback interfering with my phone's gyroscope, but it was just gyrating out of control, causing my frames to drop to the point I thought I was going to get a CTD. It was completely unusable and a bad experience.
Overview.
I will admit this was a shorter than average review, I apologise for that, but there is not much to be said.Overall this game doesn’t feel that great, it does have some moments, but for me it is way too chaotic for a game calling itself a CQB Tac shooter. If we are to rate it on being a tac shooter, it would gain a great rating of 1 of 5 stars, but I am a nice wolf and will rate it as an arcade shooter, where I would give it 3 out of 5 stars. It is just mediocre.

i will comment for gameplay not graphic Two round wins is good, in PC its 3 (and R6S kind of fast game than Valorant, i can play 2 match or 3 on classic R6S for 1 in valo). try ranked it will be longer. two minutes prepare (too find the obkective/secure the objective) is good i think for mobile, if you know what you are doing 1 minute and half is enough and can spawn peeking. but yeah 2 win is shorter maybe they make it 3 when release

Bumping it up to 3 wins would make. a big difference But it would also possibly effect match time by a decent amount, so knowing big companies. Probably won't happen. But there can be some hope that it will ig.

lol you using a 4gb ram device, and you expecting a perfect, fully detailed, high graphic setting for your game? 😂 how about you buy a new device with 6gb or 8 and stop complaining 😂😂

Well High settings will be the same for everyone unless they pulled an Apex Mobile and made the settings depend device, like how Apex M would look low poly on my tablet but look great on this phone; However, having talked with people on higher end devices, that doesn't seem to be the case. It doesn't look that good in terms of graphics for anyone, which is to be expected due to this being a beta and all that. I will admit though, at least interior shader looks good, I didn't mention it in the review as I didn't want to ramble on for too long about the part that would probably change the most in full launch. But they nailed the lighting effects.

Rainbow Six Mobile genuinely feels like it has captured the feel of Rainbow Six Siege
While mobile game expectations have only been growing from year to year, it still feels like flipping a coin whenever a major console/PC franchise finally makes the jump to phones. Will it be a great on-the-go representation of a console/PC game we love, or will it be a money-grubbing cash-in? The only way to know for sure is to actually play it. With that in mind, I was happy to finally get to jump in to the latest closed beta for

Rainbow Six: Siege (Mobile): What to Expect.
For the past few years, we can confirm that a Mobile version of Rainbow Six Siege is about to release. There've been a lot of leaks and trailers for the game, showing how the gameplay mechanics will work. As most of you lads already know, In the past there had been already a RS:S Mobile, named Area F2 which had the same mechanics that RS:S had but most of the tactical abilities were optimized to fit the mobile gaming audience.
