Going in, I thought this was just an Infinitode clone. Boy, am I glad I was wrong!
Refractor is a pixel tower defense game with the idea that you could influence the path that the enemies would walk through.
Personally, I like the art style. There's really just something nostalgic with pixel-art games that really draws me in.
With regards to the game mechanics, it really is just a tower defense game with a few innovations. Each turret you build has a set of random neutral tiles that can serve as the enemies pathway. This game element is what really drives the strategy here since you have to be careful in placing turrets if you also want to extend the enemies path to the end portal.
There's also a game mechanic where you could exchange three turrets on the map for an even stronger turret provided that you have the necessary types of turrets.
This is another game that I wouldn't mind adding to my library. I suggest that if you're a strategy/tower defense fan, you should check this game out yourself and see if it's to your liking!

This review is based on my around 30 mins of gameplay
- potato phone friendly, my phone can play this game smoothly on default settings
- optional ads
- can be played offline, but there's features aren't available offline
- gameplay is similar to refractor but more simple
- on some stage you can re-route the enemy tracks within the fixed stage field, and on some stage you cant.
