Pokemon Go developer Niantic is reverting the recent increase in Wild Spawn interaction distance, citing it as an unintended effect of a bug fix.
Previously, trainers noticed an extended distance for interacting with Wild Spawns, which was initially believed to be an intentional change. However, Niantic's Support account on Twitter confirmed that it was unintended and is now being reverted.
Niantic addressed the issue on June 27, explaining that the bug fix was meant to improve the Pokemon encounter experience during GPS drift. They acknowledged the feedback from trainers and assured them that they would consider it for future optimizations of the encounter experience.
The announcement sparked a wave of discontent among players, as many expressed their disappointment with the change.
This incident follows Niantic's decision to nerf Remote Raids on April 6, 2023, which triggered a boycott and left a negative impact on player sentiment. The Pokemon Go community now eagerly awaits further updates and improvements to enhance their gameplay experience.
