I would be super happy with this one, but let's review it today. We are looking at a game called Knightingale.
Summary:
a JRPG mobile game with rogue-like elements featuring a perfect blend of classic pixel elements and stunning medieval fantasy art style. It tells the story of a young boy who meets an elf, and together, they embark on unknown adventures, make new friends, and gradually grow into knights of the elves.
My Experience
So if you realize from the intro, I wasn't that excited because, sadly, this game looks pretty good with good characters and abit of a gacha system but also uses Octopath Traveler effects and abilities.
There is a downside that happens immediately after playing the first 5mins
You can't even do any battles...
Alot of random bugs
Honestly, that was highly disappointing that you start the game and get to the point of a first boss battle and suddenly " Random Bug" Skip the entire battle already finished.
My advice for the developers of this game is to go back, run more tests, and fix some bugs.
Pros and Cons of Knightingale
Pros:
Well Designed Characters
Nice story
Cons
Alot of bugs
I couldn't even enjoy the battles because it auto-finished them
Verdict:
Knightengale could have been an excellent single-player JRPG. The problem is that they didn't expect a bug in the game to make it unplayable. Hopefully, they did some updates and fixes to the game because it has strong potential, but as it is now.
Knightingale gets a rating of not recommended.
Hopefully, they will do quick updates, bug fixes, and more testing for this game.
To be fair to the devs, this is a Closed Beta Test (CBT) so it's bound to have a lot of bugs. It's kinda the point of CBTs: to discover bugs and glitches so that the final build becomes more stable. Still, I agree that this game needs a lot of work until it reaches a playable state. I'm honestly looking forward to the full release of Knightingale and I'm hoping that this gets released in my region unlike Octopath Traveler.
