Guide to play (on Android)

I decided to make this guide to help fellow JJK fans who want to play this outside of Japan. Unfortunately this game is only available in Japan.

Step 1: Installation

There are 2 things to install. First is the game APK (from here) as your Google Play store is unlikely to have this game available. Next is to install a VPN app. For me, I used ovpnspider after trying a few (like TunnelBear). Ovpnspider was the first VPN app to work for me. And it is free. I am not sure how safe the app is, so use at your own risk.

Step 2: download additional data

Refer to my 2 photos to see how to download the additional data. It takes a while to download, and I'm not sure if you need your VPN turned on for the download to happen. Turning on the VPN may cause your internet to be slower, which may make this huge download slower.

Step 3: Running the game

Before running the game, you must open your VPN and choose a Japan server. This game can only run while your location is Japan. If you turn off your VPN while in the game, the game will show a connection error message and you cannot continue until you turn it back on. That is really it.

I wanted to share this guide as it was my own experience figuring out how to install and play the game. Hope this guide helps some people.

Also, new accounts get 1 free SSR gacha, with one(?) free re-roll. I got SSR Panda, and re-roll for SSR Nobara (which was what I wanted). Hope you get your desired characters!

Ovpnspider is suddenly not working. not sure if it will be fixed, or a new VPN app will be needed. and yes, payment methods will not work unfortunately. no way around that.

Why when I go back to the opvnspider app it says it needs some vpn storage space and then won't let me turn on the vpn so I can't access the game. Show me!!

This game is easy enough to play outside JP with a VPN. You cannot on IOS devices, but on an android it's quite easy. Very fun, very close to the source material. Great gacha mechanics as well. Only in kanji, so download a bubble translator as well. EDIT: as some folks have asked, the VPN I use is OVPNspider. The logo is a magnifying glass in an orange semi circle. The bubble translator app has a bubble that sits on the side of the screen and translates the current screen.
