Ruins Story is a roguelite shooter game in portrait. It is 2D and only needs a single finger to aim and shoot. This game is a follow-up to ReversEstory. This game also has a good storyline to start - you wake up in this world where you need to gather information and go to several places to uncover the secrets of the past, the ancient civilization that was ruined when you woke up.
Waking up in a futuristic setting, the main character is in danger, and alongside her robot assistant, they set out on an adventure to address humanity's problem, and make sure they can get out of it safely.
Your goal is to get stronger, by going through different ruins and obtaining enhancements after defeating the enemies and solving puzzles, there's also various characters and NPCs you'll meet along the way - to know the past, you have to interact with them, even if they want to kill you, as they are also the key and the clue.
Like every roguelite - you get resources by fighting in the ruins and progressing in the game even more through quests, the quests vary, there are puzzles, enemies to defeat, finding quest items, and the like. Giving more challenge to the player as well as more experience. Through the resources you obtain after every location and ruin, you can upgrade your character by enhancing your equipment and skills.
The gameplay is different compared to ReversEstory, as the game is in portrait and the mechanics are supposed to be one-handed, where you just aim and shoot, as well as teleport. Through simple movements like flicking, swiping, and tapping, you shoot your enemies with two different weaponry you can switch to at any time!
Ruins Story's control helps with the idea that the game is strategic, with old-school graphics, it is innovative and addicting as well - with the exciting gameplay that challenges players to discover the truth of the past, bringing the storyline to its peak.
Throughout the game, the robot assistant assists you by giving helpful solutions to your problems, including hints and tutorials. Although Ruins Story is amazing, it may need a player's effort and determination to learn and grasp the controls.
This 2D shooter is worth a try, definitely. The complexity of the unusual to most controls adds to the spice of this game. As you progress, the story gets even more engaging and you'll encounter more complicated enemies and maps - you will have to improve through the insanity and intensity of each fight.

Ruins Story - A SUPER INTENSE and FUN Rogue Like Top Down Shooter!
I recently played the game Ruins Story, a 2D rogue like top down shooter game that honestly was one heck of a challenging game. The game opens up with an intro to the story, mixed in with some lore about what your situation is, with a lot of dialogue between the main protagonist and the other characters in the game. Throw in some time travel and a little robot companion called nekoro and you have a pretty interesting story for a fast paced roguelike top down shooter game.

Immortal Survivors - This was a SUPER FUN, ROGUELIKE Experience!
Immortal Survivors is another roguelike game in the same family as games like Return to  Abyss and Vampire Survivors. The combat is fast and intense, but the cool thing I liked about this game over the others is you have an extra layer of defense with your QI going down when attacked before your health will. It's like a shield on your character to help you along. The leveling is fast and the upgrades and skills are awesome. The other thing that is different with this game is that you also have to aim at your targets, because some skills require aiming of its skills.

Ruins Story is a fun action shooter that’s tougher than it looks
If you’re a fan of games where you primarily hug the walls, dodge, and attack your opponents then Ruins Story is probably the game for you. It kinda reminded me of games like Madness Endless, but where Madness Endless had simple-to-learn controls, playing through Ruins Story on my iPhone was pretty complex. The opening tutorials are pretty dialogue heavy, and how everything is described didn’t make much sense to me. When combined with the multiple weapons, combat modes, and skill trees, it was all a jumble.
