You know guys we all love metroidvania games but you know how this genre started and what was the first metroidvania game is, so let's Go in time machine and check the past of metroidvania Genre.
Metroidvania, a term that blends the names of two iconic video game franchises – Metroid and Castlevania, represents a distinctive genre known for its exploration-centric gameplay, interconnected worlds, and character progression. To truly understand what Metroidvania is, let's delve into the roots of this genre and how it has evolved over the years.

The year was 1986 when Nintendo released "Metroid" for the NES (Nintendo Entertainment System), a groundbreaking game that laid the foundation for what would later be known as the Metroidvania genre. Directed by the legendary Gunpei Yokoi and designed by Yoshio Sakamoto, Metroid introduced players to the enigmatic bounty hunter Samus Aran in a vast, interconnected world. The game featured a non-linear structure, allowing players to explore at their own pace and gradually unlock new abilities to access previously inaccessible areas.

Fast forward to 1987, and Konami one of my favourite game developers introduced "Castlevania II: Simon's Quest" for the NES. While the first Castlevania game was a linear action platformer, Simon's Quest expanded the scope by incorporating open-world elements and a day-night cycle. This departure from the traditional linear gameplay planted the seeds for the fusion of Metroid and Castlevania elements that would define the genre.

The true catalyst for the Metroidvania genre's popularization came in 1997 with the release of "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night" One of my favorite games for the PlayStation. Directed by Koji Igarashi, Symphony of the Night embraced the non-linear, interconnected world design seen in Metroid. We controlled Alucard, a vampire with a wide array of abilities, as they explored the sprawling Dracula's Castle. The game received critical acclaim for its atmospheric design, intricate map layout, and emphasis on exploration and backtracking.
As gaming technology advanced, so did the Metroidvania genre. Titles like "Axiom Verge," "Hollow Knight," and "Dead Cells" brought fresh perspectives to the genre, showcasing that the spirit of exploration and character progression could thrive in both 2D and 3D environments. The indie game scene, in particular, embraced the Metroidvania formula, allowing for diverse and innovative experiences within the genre.
Metroidvania, born from the ingenuity of Metroid and Castlevania, has become a timeless and enduring genre within the gaming landscape. Its emphasis on exploration, interconnected worlds, and character growth has captivated generations of players. As developers continue to push the boundaries of game design, one can only anticipate the exciting directions in which the Metroidvania genre will evolve in the years to come.
Now I have question for you Guys if you readed my hard works, then tall me Which was the first metroidvania game namename😅.

A highly unique take on the Metroidvania genre | First Impressions - Doomblade
Doomblade, offers a highly unique take on the Metroidvania genre. With its innovative combat mechanics featuring precision-based clicking much like mouse rhythm games like Osu!, or twin stick shooter style of combat when using controllers. Doomblade's gameplay revolves around its precision-based combat highly intertwined with its platforming system, which sets it apart from traditional Metroidvania games. The combat mechanics require players to click enemies or use the right stick for aiming to launch towards it for an attack. This not only applies in combat but platforming segments, requiring players to time the enemies positions to launch an attack, and be able to reach platforms and areas. Without these enemies to “latch” onto with an attack, these areas are otherwise unreachable. This approach immerses players in intense battles and exhilarating platforming segments, creating a sense of fluidity and empowerment.
