What a surreal year 2020 had been. With all the doom and gloom brought forth by this perpetual covid pandemic, I have probably spent more time scrolling through TapTap on my smartphone than ever before. As I’m sure most of us have upended our lives and been cooped up within the four walls of our homes, mobile games have definitely assisted us in getting by this new norm. Well, in my case, it was Genshin Impact.

In all my years of playing online games, only AT I've encountered required real money to play with new characters. I don't understand what the developer's goal is with this game, is it for popularity or just to milking? Omg. Many games that celebrate anniversary give players free characters or free gems. But, AT is meh.  The devs don't care about the players. How arrogant. Without players, you are nothing.

Recently, an open letter accusing Tencent of shutting down its dress-up mobile game without any noticing and only providing items from other Tencent games as compensation was posted on a Chinese social media, quickly gained the attention of a large number of angry Fashion Cloudy players and has got over eight thousand forwards for now. In the letter, the writer Pumpkinko goes into great detail about how Tencent was still inducing players to spend money on in-game items a month before the game stopped operating and refused to give reasonable real money compensation after shutting down the game.
