Baldur’s Gate 3 Probably Coming to iOS in 2025
541 View2024-05-07It's said that Larian Studios' Baldur's Gate 3 may be coming to the iPad Pro and iOS (iPhone 15 Pro & 16 Pro) in early 2025.
What About the 150GB Size?
It will probably get downgraded in graphics. Death stranding is only 60gb for the iPad. BG3 might get downgraded to 60-80gb.
Do I Need a More Powerful Chip?
The A17Pro or AKA A18 will be in the base iPhone 16 while the iPhone 16 Pro will have the A18 Pro. Plus, we still have to account for the iPads with M1-M4 chips. Hence, in 2025 there will be many devices capable of running these ported games.
Why Are AAA Games Only Coming to iOS Not Android?
The arrival of Assassin’s Creed Mirage and the Resident Evil series on iOS has left Android gamers feeling envious. The biggest reason is Apple is paying out of pocket to these developers to port their games over. Qualcomm or Samsung needs to do the same. Last, I've also heard from a few developers that they chance losing money porting to android due to piracy.

God I hope they'd do something with BG 3's UI on such small screens (even on an iPad) if that's the case. ann yep, piracy is really out of control on Android. It's essentially just like in PC where it's easy to safely download a cracked version of a paid game, that's why I understand why most developers really choose to port their games on iOS since it's a more regulated platform. And android people hate to admit this, and most of them still feel entitled for more triple-a ports, only to pirate them. This is why we'll never get high-budget proper ports on android. We'll be stuck in endless gacha games since developers and publishers knows it's a more profitable endeavor.

Author likedI would assume triple A companies to know how to secure their game from being played without the user paying for it, I have seen many games that don't let the user play if its not downloaded from play store, even if they bypassed that then the triple A company should atleast prevent it? they have lots of money I don't see a scenario where that's not possible unless there is no way of preventing bypassing, but I assume there is.
