The only correct way to play Shadow Fight 2 is by playing Special Edition one. No grind, no ads, no micro transactions, and very normal difficulty you can enjoy, as how every game supposed to be.
Visually the game is so distinct there is no way you mistook this game for something else. No need amazing graphics to make a game that really timeless. Plus, this runs on anything as far as it has a display.
Although the objects are 3D, they are shaded-less so everything render as if they were all 2D. Idk how they even come up with this idea because it's brilliant and looks like nothing else ever!
Although... My biggest complain might be that the game only supports 16:9. I mean sure, any phones at that time were 16:9. So new phones just have to endure black bars on the side.
I really love the physics based-fighting game. This is the only 2D-1v1-fighter game I have ever enjoy playing. Because generally, this is the first game of that genre I've played, and so I'm dissapointed with every other fighter game came after it that doesn't utilizes this mechanic.
The game is so balanced, smooth movement but very responsive. Honestly I don't know how they even fed up this formula in the next Shadow Fight installments.
And the most interesting of all, the game played so differently between this paid version and the free version of the game. The free version is too hard, disallow you to use these sick weapons because gem is unobtainable freely, also your coins in general always get sucked dry and making you have to either grind meticulously or just pay with real money. Yuck! The paid one is SO GOOD! You can progress just normally without grind and whatever. You can enjoy any enchanted gear if you want to because gems are not that rare. Overall you'll feel balanced and your progress will not get halted ever!
While you still have to complete most of these to progress, they always spice it up with new mechanic, new challenges, or at least new tricks that makes you have to approach opponent differently. The weapon are so many, and they all animated very beautifully.
Every action feels impactful. Every wrong decision will turn back on you. Everytime you got punch and downed you can resolve quickly to maybe turn the tide to your favor. This game is so much.
And in the final full release like this one, you got to meet the one behind the gate. Which then also unlock a lot more mechanic that always and always surprise you.
Many hours of gameplay? Well I'm not sure. But I'd say around 18h for all completion. Which is good compare to the free version that maybe 30h+ because the grind. And another 20h watching ads.
Conclusion:
The free version is stupid. Just get Shadow Fight 2 Special Edition. Or maybe, get Play Pass because it's cheaper and this game (along with many others) are also included.
