Marvel Snap starts strong, with good balance, generous rewards, interesting cards and just the right amount of rng.
Before i reached the highest rank, i had a blast, no matter the design (atmosphere, interface, music), that i really dislike. Matches were deep, and really forced me to think ahead.
Then, after 12 hours, i reached the highest rank (Infinity), and the power of decks i was facing went through the roof!
With my current collection, there was no more depth involved:
New, hilarious cards and combos were revealed in every match, and made my battles usually just unwinnable, which added a very nasty pay2win element to the game, and decreased my experience immensely.
There are decks, that finish the game with a single card, that changes everything: destroy two of three locations (an all units on them), revive several discarded high-end-cards, add hilarious amounts of points...
Ive still continued playing, hoping that the gameplay will balance out, as my collection grows, and bought the premium-pass and the gold-flatrate to speed up progress, but, after 56 hours, i can confidently say, that it doesnt. In the end, matches in Marvel Snap are decided by S-tier decks and drawing certain key-cards or not. It hurts just more, that there is no arena-mode.
On a sidenote, Marvel Snap uses a very strange score mechanic. Often enough, you lose ranking-points after winning, which makes the whole ladder feel arbitrary, and playing hardly rewarding.
Concluding, i do not enjoy Marvel Snap, and do not recommend it.
