Now this is an opinion, but if you want to correct me please do.
Lore/Storyline:
Genshin Impact: 9/10 - The lore is insane and the ingame books is full of knowledge about Teyvat or the place where the game takes place. It has a interesting storyline because it takes Mythology around the world and connects it in the game.
Wuthering Waves: 8.5/10 - It's just been released but the storyline for now is kinda meh but the last quest had some intense story and gameplay. The ingame library doesn't give us too many details about the lore of Jinzhou but it's quite unique in it's own way.
Combat/Gamplay:
Genshin Impact: 7/10 - The combat doesn't have any special thing on it, its just a matter of knowing the rotation, the elemental combination and dodging.
Wuthering Waves: 10/10 - Its unique specially it has a parry system and intro and outro skill. It's not just a button mashing you need to know the timing of the parry and the intro and outro skill.
Characters:
Genshin Impact: 10/10 - The character and their story is definitely good on its own but lets include their design as well, the designs of each character represents their nations, Mondstadt is Germany, Liyue is China, Inazuma is Japan, Sumeru is India/Egypt/Middle East, and Fontaine is France. They used their native clothing as the inspiration for the character designs.
Wuthering Waves: 9/10 - For now it only have 1 nation or city but the character designs are impeccable. It suits the apocalyptic future style of the game. The characters have different style on their own and it's utilized in a good way.
UI/Designs:
Genshin Impact: 10/10 - It has a easy to understand UI and very clean.
Wuthering Waves 10/10 - It has a sleek and futuristic style to it but it's still easy to see and ver clean.
Now TL;DR, if you want to play for the Gameplay choose Wuthering Waves. And if you want to play for the lore choose Genshin Impact.
Note: I didn't include the Gacha System because, it's hard to explain at this point but you can watch videos about that because everyone is comparing it.
I play both but i prefer wuthering waves theyre more generous and give more content

The feeling that you get free 10 pulls for doing 1 bug fix is amazing

Made some interesting points, and have to agree with some of them. In my personal opinion (as a player of both) Wuthering Waves is better overall, though I think Genshin has such depth in lore that players can be genuinely interested, I think gameplay is important for longevity. I dont think you can have a good game when you have to sacrifice one or the other. Though Wuthering Waves storyline is not at such a high standard as Genshin's, it does have enough of a storyline and interesting characters for players to enjoy while also providing immersive gameplay. I also think the optimisation of the game is its only drawback as of yet, however they have made consistent updates and apologies towards players for this error. Considering the game has not been released for long I think it has made huge leaps in progress.

yeah it's a shame that the optimisation is rushed

Very good analysis. Both games have their ups and downs. Personally, I would've liked WuWa very much if it weren't for the constant lag and having to play at lowest graphics, which makes the world look very bad so I don't even want to explore anymore like I do in Genshin. Hopefully the devs optimize the game better since the combat is SUPER FUN
