Having waited for so long, we finally have a live game. It goes without saying this game has generated a lot of buzz, especially being classified as a "Genshin Killer."
Is it a Genshin Killer? No not really. But who cares? It IS a good game with outstanding mechanics and a promising future.
Although I'm giving it full stars, it's not a perfect game. It has its shortcomings and I hope they'll fix them. Let's break it down.
👍 Pros:
- Amazing gameplay. The fighting mechanics are the best in all Gacha, and traversing the world is smooth as butter. It's fast paced and exploration is engaging.
- Generous rewards. New players will be treated to a lot of freebies and rewards.
- Good rng. This one is arguable, but I personally enjoy the grinding and farming system. Searching for echoes is fun, rewarding, and doesn't cost any in game stamina to farm them.
- A dev team that listens. This may be the best thing about the game. Kuro cares about they're players, and despite some pretty bad fumbles, they own up to their mistakes and compensate the payer base accordingly.
Honorable mentions: Character designs, some of the vocal performances, map design, exploration, game difficulty.
👎 Cons:
- Story lacks depth. We've been absolutely spoiled for good narratives and overworld loves. So WuWa has their work cut out for them. The story isn't bad, but to keep players interested, I suggest they need to invest in better and deeper story telling. More "show don't tell," more theory crafting events, and more set ups for later pay offs.
- Voice EN acting is sub par. I've seen worse for sure, but I'm surprised at the lack of good voice direction. The accents are muddled (a lot of UK voice actors forced to use American accents, and it's obvious), there's a lack of depth in some of the characters, and it's inconsistent.
- The music is uninspired. This one is surprising. PGR hosts some amazing music, but WuWa went with a different direction and, while not bad, there's nothing melodic enough for me to grab onto.
Dishonorable mentions: Some lag issues, limited content (for now).
Overall It's a work in progress, but we already have a great game on our hands, and I believe it will finally become the game we all deserve and bring in some much needed competition.

pros: - fast paced and fun combat - enjoyable exploration - cute, pretty, cool and gorgeous character designs - beautiful scenery cons: - unfriendly UI - optimization issues - bugs - lacking story and world building 2 weeks in and the game still feels like an early release with many issues to address however as many are probably aware kuro has not disappointed in their response to feedback. the game is much more stable than initial release however the game still needs a lot of work done with audio and visual bugs as well as optimization issues occuring quite frequently. unfortunately the story does not impress so far with the exception of execution being well done as often cinematics immerse one in missions and the world. what WW lacks in story and world building it partially makes up for in combat with it's fast paced and fun combat that offers a skill ceiling beyond simple buttonmashing. furthermore does WW suffer from the same fate many other gacha games do: a lack of replayability/end game content. I will stick around for now and hope kuro continues to improve upon the communities critique in future. 3/5 stars until then.

Initial impressions of this game: it's pretty decent. The gameplay is fast paced and addicting. It's similar to PGR, but with some different mechanics. 👍 Pros: The sound design and music is good, makes the gameplay more engaging. Voice acting (in English at least) is just OK. I appreciate the effort but nothing special. I like how the level up mechanics are similar to the source material. 👎 Cons: The story does not take its time. They really want to get you into the action and teach you all the mechanics.  Some people may like that, but for me, it breaks the immersion. A lot of exposition to explain story beats rather than taking the time to show you. The pacing is too fast.

This game seems like a wasted opportunity. The graphics are great and the characters are really good and well animated but the gameplay is very disappointing. This could have made an interesting MMORPG but instead it's just a run of the mill turn based gacha with very basic combat which you will immediately auto. The only difference is that instead of going stage by stage via a map, you run around a small 3D environment speaking to NPCs for story and stages.
