You probably heard about the growing popularity of games that make use of your backpack and organization skills in a strategic manner against screenshots of other player builds, with the goal of strategically placing as many buffs, powers, and other features as possible while you crawl through dungeons, fight monsters, and with this new twist, mixing the concepts of Pokemon, evolutions and element types!
NEODUEL: Backpack Monsters is a backpack battler that is both exciting and diversified in which everything and anything is playable. In many of these games, I find that there are very few builds that are capable of topping the leaderboards, but to my surprise it doesn't really matter what you play, everything has a similar chance.
Presentation
Very simplistic
The colors and just basic designs that they choose to use are so vibrant, and the music, despite being repetitious in the form of a lo-fi rhythm, is quite soothing and helps you relax so that you can finally have some fun. You should be able to appreciate the fact that this game does not really waste your time. Every time you begin a game, complete a fight, and earn currency to buy new monsters, you are presented with the option to reroll for increasingly powerful buffs, Cosmions, and other items. This is something that you need to take into consideration while you are builds up your element or elements together in order to fight your opponents.
You can't force builds; you have to think about blending together parts and playstyles to make each run function the way it should if you want to get into the top 20 on the leaderboards. This style of building can often give the impression of being a bit too random but it's actually quite a lot of fun when you experiment and find new things!
As you sit in intermission, you could even find yourself spending the next 15 minutes taking apart your whole backpack piece by piece, attempting to fit everything into the largest and most powerful build you are capable of putting together with everything you have earned up to the final fights, which are not to be taken lightly, ever.
There are builds that have been put together by other players that are incredibly formidable. These builds have the ability to heal themselves for massive amounts of sustain, reflect, de-buffs or even to do up to 300 damage per basic attack. Protecting yourself is just as important as dealing a lot of damage to your opponent.
Gameplay
Automated
Everything about this game is rather simple, you won't have to worry too much about the physical aspects of playing it. You may further your build by purchasing Cosmions and placing them in your bag. Every once in a while, you will receive an upgrade that grants you a unique power or a powerful buff that can only be obtained via these elements. You can use these upgrades to help advance your build.
You would want to make sure that you have done everything that you can to make it link in the most organized way possible, hopefully even freeing up some more room on the sides or switching around your builds even further.
Example:
An extremely strong fire Cosmion is being utilized by us in the image above. This playstyle allows us to administer 50 to 100 burns at the very first interaction of the fight as a burst build. We are able to stay alive thanks to our shields and a significant amount of healing potential, which enables all of our de-buffs to follow up and remain in effect for a longer period of time, which in turn helps us massively.
See the top left portion of the screen that Energy Box? This could be moved over and switched with the fire pits purple backpack in the top center for more sustain activating the effect 0.5 faster, or take both that and the one attached to the other fire pit at the bottom, for the three-headed fire dog in the center to speed up their power spike faster by 1. Both of these options are possible builds, it just takes time to realize it and put them into action, while then having to rearrange everything else!
If you are unable to make something work at the moment, whether it be the fact that a lot of your links don't line up with anything, giving you less defense or offense, you would want to make sure that you have done everything that you can to make it work.
Conclusion
Try it for free!
This is one of those games that you come back to every once in a while to play because it is competitive, but in a relaxing and calm way. Instead of being competitive because everyone is abusing strong builds that they can't force all the time, it is fun to just sit back and try to make something that is very powerful all the time.
