SHOULD I PLAY ONCE HUMAN? Absolutely play this, especially if you like Rust or Minecraft. Once Human offers all the intense building and survival action of Rust, but it adds its own twist on things with quests, interactive boss fights, team battles, and a story about a postapocalyptic world full of strange monsters. It delivers a superb multiplayer survival experience that’s only held back by a few small issues, which seems quite promising for a project that’s only in beta.

SHOULD I PLAY DRIFTOPIA? If you’re a fan of crafting and like survival games, this is definitely a title to watch! Driftopia is a crafting and survival game set on a world that’s almost completely covered in water. To gather resources, I had to swim through dangerous waters, search for goods underwater, and drift from one island to the next on my trusty raft. The current version of the game is pretty rough, but the concept shows a lot of promise, and since the game is still in beta, I’m not overly concerned about the bugs. These issues definitely need to be addressed before the full release, but Driftopia is still shaping up to be a very addictive game. 

Ocean Keeper: Dome Survival is an anticipated "roguelike survival game" in which you play as a lone member of the Space Pirate Team and explore the unknown depths of an underwater universe. With just your trusty Mech and Digger on your side, you'll have to explore deep caverns to acquire resources to upgrade your gear and improve your chances of survival against alien adversaries. Ocean Keeper is the most recent addition to RetroStyle Games' extensive game portfolio, which includes titles like Last Pirate: Survival Island, Spirit Run, and many more.

If you love scavenge-grinding, THIS is the game for you. This game is really fun at the beginning. Then the cycle gets repetitive. Too repetitive for my taste but your mileage may vary. I know people who've been playing this game for over two years, so there you go! The game is basically: Scavenging->Sorting->Storing->Processing->Base-building (repeat) There is a bit of action but it's very streamlined and not the main point of the game. It's basically a post apocalyptic survival/scavenging simulator where you find leftovers and make stuff out of them for you to use. Microtransactions will save you some grind and progression will feel less tedious, but the game IS all about grinding, so, can you see the irony here? At times it feels too mindless and the lack of depth starts to get to you. Plus the food/water need is an unnecessary mechanic that feels out of place and mostly distracts/annoys you rather than feeling immersive.

SHOULD I PLAY LOST FUTURE? Lost Future has a lot going for it, especially if you’re the type that likes post-apocalyptic adventures. I had a blast exploring the open world, building my base, and taking down the undead. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get past the glitches in the game, and I mean that literally. No matter how many times I reloaded the game, I couldn’t progress past a particular zombie-killing mission—which sucked because I would’ve loved to spend more time in this world.

SHOULD I PLAY PALWORLD? Absolutely yes, especially if you enjoy crafting, creature collecting, and base-building. Ever since Palworld was unveiled in 2021, it’s been a hot topic in the gaming world. A Pokémon-like game with guns has incredible appeal, but the whole thing seemed a little too good to be true. It’s time to get really spooky with the latest Goose Goose Duck patch. This patch introduces a brand new map called Bloodhaven that features two new mechanics for players to learn, as well as five roles to pick up. The map is quite big too, with it featuring eight locations for survivors to explore and do tasks in. After playing for nearly two hours, I’ve had such a blast and have really enjoyed exploring the map and learning the new mechanics.

SHOULD I PLAY NIGHTINGALE? Hold off on this one until it’s had a few more updates. Nightingale is an open-world crafting survival game made by former BioWare devs. There are some terrific ideas behind it, but it still needs a lot of work.
