After 25 years, E3 is officially gone for good
E3, or more formally the Electronic Entertainment Expo, has been officially shut down and will not be returning, following several tumultuous years that saw its importance in the games industry dramatically reduced.
The Entertainment Software Association, the non-profit industry group that has hosted E3 since its inception in 1995, told The Washington Post that the decision was based on several factors, but perhaps the most important one was that “companies now have access to consumers and to business relations through a variety of means, including their own showcases.”
