BASTET Bastet is a Nile Gen-zone, A-rank Modifier that specialises in a bit of both shadow element DPS and de-buff support. To boil it down, all of her skills have an enhanced version that is only available when she enters the Divine Gaze state. You can enter that state by doing her full basic attack combo, perfect dodge or using base S3. Her enhanced S1 reduces shadow resistance of enemies hit which makes it the preferred enhanced skill to use followed by enhanced S3 for the most damage. S2 is good for mobility and the very generous i-frames it gives to avoid enemy attacks.

SHOULD I PLAY THE PIXEL ARK? Give this one a go if you’re into gacha games, slingshot mechanics, PVP, or postapocalyptic settings. I’m usually very suspicious about gacha titles and the all too frequent pay-to-win strategies that keep the game from being fun without. Luckily, The Pixel Ark was consistently entertaining and has generous drops. Best of all, I didn’t have to pay anything! TIME PLAYED

Developed by Shift Up who are well known for their other super popular anime game: Destiny Child. And published by Level Infinite, who is also tied to Tower of Fantasy. NIKKE's story is deep and really dark but also very entertaining too. Most of the jokes are carried by Neon and Anis, and Anis sure does have the best disappointed face in the game. I think she's the only one with that face emote to be honest. The game does however get very dark, and numerous times I've felt like my NIKKE are in danger of losing their lives in the story cinematics. It doesn't help that the ending of the tutorial drops a nice big dose of feels into the game, and that's only in less than an hour of playing it. Pretty much setting the tone for this game.

SHOULD I PLAY ASTRA: KNIGHTS OF VEDA? If you’ve been searching for a dark fantasy action RPG, you’ll definitely want to keep an eye on Astra: Knights of Veda. It blends vibrant, painting-like visuals with old-school beat-em-up gameplay, and that combination is fantastic. There’s also a dark story with elements of Lovecraftian horror and a gacha system. I ran into some issues during my time with the demo, but the game is really promising overall, and I’m looking forward to seeing more of it.
