I love tower defense games, but I've played so many over the years that it's tough to find one that does something new. With that in mind, Defense Derby definitely surprised and impressed me! It starts out looking like the typical gacha-heavy, merge-style tower defense game that's become so popular on mobile in recent years, but there's a lot more going on here. The real core of Defense Derby's brilliance is in the method of recruiting new units for the four players going against each other in any given match. In between waves of monster attacks, a single unit will be made available, and players must each put in a bid for that unit. The player with the highest bid (or players, if multiple players bid the same amount) pay that price and get the unit in exchange.

Developed by Shift Up who are well known for their other super popular anime game: Destiny Child. And published by Level Infinite, who is also tied to Tower of Fantasy. NIKKE's story is deep and really dark but also very entertaining too. Most of the jokes are carried by Neon and Anis, and Anis sure does have the best disappointed face in the game. I think she's the only one with that face emote to be honest. The game does however get very dark, and numerous times I've felt like my NIKKE are in danger of losing their lives in the story cinematics. It doesn't help that the ending of the tutorial drops a nice big dose of feels into the game, and that's only in less than an hour of playing it. Pretty much setting the tone for this game.

Honkai Impact 3rd has the most intricately-planned plot, amazing storytelling and animated cutscenes, and the best roster of female (and male) characters in any gacha game ever. ......which is why this game will never be successful among the new generation of gamers. There are some attributes about Valkyries, which I couldn't understand at first. But I am most concerned about the point that my wives are too beautiful. Honkai Impact 3rd tells the story of a world eroded by a mysterious disaster. Players can play as Valkyries to resist the invasion of disaster and maintain the peace of the world.

I’ll be honest. I’m not the biggest fan of gacha games. Something about rolling for characters and the aggressive monetization that sees you spending money without any real guarantees turns me off. That being said, Goddess of Victory: Nikke may be the game that changes my mind. Yes, this is still very much a gacha game, but it combines sci-fi, RPG, FPS, and waifu elements into one enticing bundle. There really is something for everyone here, all packaged in an immersive narrative experience.
