YES! And we have the math to back it up! Reverse : 1999 is known for the unique art style and character design, great voice acting and a story with interesting premise. The gameplay is basically a copy of 7DS : Grand Cross that came earlier, but with some pretty good improvement. It's basically turn based strategy with a bit of card battler elements to spice things up. It's more complex than HSR, but still relatively simple.

I’ll be honest. I’m not the biggest fan of gacha games. Something about rolling for characters and the aggressive monetization that sees you spending money without any real guarantees turns me off. That being said, Goddess of Victory: Nikke may be the game that changes my mind. Yes, this is still very much a gacha game, but it combines sci-fi, RPG, FPS, and waifu elements into one enticing bundle. There really is something for everyone here, all packaged in an immersive narrative experience.

SHOULD I PLAY THE PIXEL ARK? Give this one a go if you’re into gacha games, slingshot mechanics, PVP, or postapocalyptic settings. I’m usually very suspicious about gacha titles and the all too frequent pay-to-win strategies that keep the game from being fun without. I went into the closed beta test for Kemono Friends: Kingdom knowing basically nothing about this franchise beyond the fact that there has been at least one previous mobile game and a semi-popular anime series. So if you're a hardcore fan, know that my opinion is based solely on the little bit I've played of this latest mobile game in the series and nothing else. That said, that little bit I've played is pretty dang fun! Kemono Friends takes place in a world where animals have been transformed into anime waifus, who in turn are at war with a more aggressive breed of mutated creature called "Ceruleans." I took on the role of a newcomer to this strange world who had amnesia but was able to help out in the fight against the Ceruleans.

SHOULD I PLAY SILVER AND BLOOD? Not unless things drastically improve between the current test version and the final release. Silver and Blood is the latest in a never-ending flood of mobile gacha RPGs, with its only notable feature being a dark story involving vampires. Virtually everything else here is been-there-done-that unless you haven’t touched one of these types of games before, and it doesn’t even do a particularly good job with the many recycled elements.

SHOULD I PLAY REVERSE: 1999? Play it if you love JRPGs, card games, or vaguely human-shaped collectibles. Reverse: 1999 takes place in a world where time is moving backwards. You command a group of Arcanists, which are basically like time-travelers, that can survive the shift between eras and must fight to protect the future. The story has a nice mix of science fiction and fantasy elements, but it’s the lively cast of characters that really bring the setting to life. I really felt invested in the characters I controlled, and for me, that’s what takes an RPG from good to great.
