I’m a big fan of toys. I’ve always liked collecting, gathering, playing with, and testing out as many action figures, bikes, and gadgets as I could get my hands on. My latest toy is the newly released PlayStation Portal. For those not in the know, the Portal is a remote player that you can use to access a PlayStation 5 from virtually anywhere with a Wi-Fi connection. At least that’s what they say anyway. Astra: Knights of Veda is a gacha side-scrolling beat ‘em up that features a rich story and world with some really gorgeous accompanying visuals. The story of Astra is incredibly illustrated and decently acted. With the demo being fully voice-acted, it kept me engaged most of the time. It also doesn’t shy away from pretty gnarly stuff which I as a story enthusiast appreciated. Astra operates like a typical 2D side-scrolling beat ‘em up, in a way similar to ASTLIBRA Revision released back in 2022, with a basic attack, dodge, special, and ultimate. You need to use these moves in conjunction with each other to successfully clear each zone. You can also switch your characters on the fly (thanks to a big story reason) to spice things up.

The Assassin's Creed franchise has officially secured approval for its latest license, known by the codename "Jade." A recently released Chinese promotional image reveals the new title of the game: "Assassin's Creed: Hidden Heroes." Fan excitement is palpable in the face of this new addition to the Assassin's Creed family, and the title itself suggests a captivating and mysterious experience. the game is so much fun, theres a wide variety of towers to unlock or build, the mechanics of the game is hard, but it is explained perfectly by the tutorial which prepares you for the overall game, although the tutorial only teaches you about 1 or 2 things about how to refactor and make the track longer, i think thats a good approach to teaching new players as that approach gives difficulty to levels to come which if you ask me is a very steep difficulty drop and that style of approach is also good as it engages the player's brain making the player think strategically about which tower to refactor, when to build new tracks, when to upgrade the system and where to put certain types of towers, that approach which doesnt baby the player by hand feeding them with the answer is the best approach on how to teach players the mechanics especially since this is a TD game where critical and strategic thinking is required but nonetheless, if you make it through that you will learn new stuff which is so fun, overall 9.6 / 10 game
