You start to think about games like Undertale, DeltaRune, EverHood, A Short Hike, StarDew Valley and so many more that are all created by a solo or duo developer, yet they provide you with hours of pure unfiltered amusement and delight, as well as sometimes a very long emotional rollercoaster of sensations that will stop you dead in your tracks. Afterplace is right in the center such masterfully crafted works.

If you love bullet-hell, great storytelling, and, of course, above all else, games that are free and very fun to play, than Wolfrush is a game you need to check out now! If you enjoy story-rich games with a diverse cast of vibrantly colored characters, Mondealy on the other hand is one of my all-time favorites. It was a casual game with no fighting, just a lot of walking and running around hugging cute boys, meeting people, and assisting them with their problems, as well as all the references, memes, and characters to other games and TV shows. There is so much to love about this, that isn't being appreciated.

'Until Then' is truly a one-of-a-kind game. The intro, art style, narration, story, characters, music, dialogues, mini-games, and everything else were really impressive. After finishing the game, I felt like rain had washed over me. At first, I was caught off guard (especially because of the final scene) and soon felt the coldness of the rain. But then I was happy and content with how everything seemed to make sense. When it was finally over, it left me feeling a bit empty as well.

It's a stop-motion mobile game made entirely of real clay, originally developed by British studio Fat Pebble and published by Zynga in 2012. After years away from digital stores, the game returned in 2026 as "Clay Jam Classic," relaunched by the original developers at YumYumYukYuk Ltd., preserving all the artistic and creative charm that made it unique on mobile. 1) 📝 STORYLINE: The story of Clay Jam Classic follows the adventures of a small clay character named Fat Pebble, a friendly and unconventional creature who finds himself racing across mountains, hills, and worlds entirely modeled by hand. Along the way, he will face strange creatures, absurd obstacles, and gigantic bosses also made of clay animated in stop-motion. Each setting tells a small, creative universe full of British humor, bizarre monsters, and colorful scenarios that seem to have come straight from an art studio.  The main objective is to advance further and further, devouring small pieces of clay along the way to increase size and score, until you face enormous creatures at the end that require reflexes and strategy.

You have to use all the 3D pieces available to erect buildings: houses, bridges, monuments, etc. based on different architectural styles from all over the world. I haven't had this much fun with an Online Multiplayer Roguelike; these days, games like this are generally only available in Local Co-op, making it difficult to make new friends or play with anybody other than close pals in real life or through your friends list. Developed by Tessa, Voheen is a captivating 2D pixel-art metroidvania that blends a dark atmosphere, cryptic storytelling, and deep exploration within a mysterious and decaying world. The game focuses on immersive environments, skill-based combat, and classic progression mechanics that fans of the genre will truly appreciate. 1) STORYLINE: The story of Voheen takes players into a kingdom on the brink of collapse, a world consumed by a dark force that has corrupted every form of life. You play as a lone warrior tied to an ancient prophecy, awakening without memories in a devastated land. As the journey unfolds, it becomes clear that the protagonist is connected to a primordial power capable of restoring balance… or completely destroying what remains of the world. Exploration leads you through forgotten ruins, corrupted forests, labyrinthine dungeons, and abandoned cities. The narrative is delivered in a fragmented way: cryptic dialogues, item descriptions, and encounters with enigmatic NPCs gradually reveal the kingdom’s tragic past and the hero’s true role within it. The deeper you progress, the more unsettling truths emerge about the nature of the darkness and the sacrifice required to stop it.

Most indie devs try to make icons that “look cool.” I did the same for years, and it cost us thousands of downloads over time. The app icon has one purpose, and one purpose only: Trigger enough emotions so that the player clicks your listing. Here is a few things I learned about creating the perfect app icon: 1. Bright colors win Your App Icon competes with thousands of others, stronger colors will make your icon stick out. 2. Angry or Sad faces convert better than happy ones. This is something I actually learned from YouTube Thumbnail theory. In my old company we boosted visitors by 24% by JUST going from Happy -> Sad face. 3. Simplicity beats details The icon is so small so it is important that the icon isn't too cluttered. For Monkey King: Legend of Heroes, we first used a clean blue icon with our main character(see the image) Then we swapped it for a bright red icon with an angry Monkey King… Store listing visitors increased by 109% in one week. It is quite simple: your app icon is not a decoration. It is an emotional trigger that decides if someone will visit your store page or not.

Maybe it could just be a bit of a burnout streak. In that case it would only be my fault. But I would also blame the developers for not really thinking about the long term players, who have been playing since very early access when adding in new currencies. It's a high-speed 2D action-platformer where the centerpiece of the experience is... a "Grinder" drill—and it's not just a weapon, but a true multi-purpose tool! The gameplay is based on rhythm and precision: the more you master the drill, the more spectacular the experience becomes. The enemies are varied and well-characterized. Some require timing, others strategy. The boss fights are one of the game's highlights: dynamic, intense, and often divided into multiple phases, the levels are full of secrets, alternative routes, and collectibles. In short, it encourages replayability thanks to timed challenges, hidden object collection, and routes optimized for speedrunning. Its detailed pixel art style and fluid animations make the title visually captivating. The music is energetic and perfectly complements the frenetic action.  It's not a casual game: it requires precision, reflexes, and a little practice, but it's incredibly rewarding.

This intriguing video game developed by BEAON Dev combines atmosphere, narrative, and engaging mechanics into an immersive experience. It has many similarities to Limbo, except that here, color dominates, with a naive palette. 2) 📝 STORYLINE: It transports us to a world suspended between reality and memory, where the protagonist finds himself trapped in a mysterious time loop. Each awakening brings with it fragments of memories, places already visited, and choices that seem to have different consequences. The plot unfolds slowly, leaving the player to piece together the past through environmental details, cryptic dialogue, and profound symbolism. The sense of solitude and discovery is constant, as you try to understand the true meaning of "waiting again" for something that may have already happened.

Back to the retro-futurist.. 📖 Historical Notes: In the fifties and sixties of the twentieth century we thought about the future in a much more optimistic way than in our times due to the economic boom that involved both America and Europe and thus the union of the terms "retro" and " futurism" with the need to be able to easily identify a whole series of works characterized by futuristic (or "futuristic") visions chronologically moved backwards with a retro taste not to be confused with cyberpunk which has despotic settings compared to the utopian retro-futurist One of the greatest technological visionaries, representative of this current, was probably Norman Bel Geddes, with his work "Futurama" with technological highways, underground parking lots, floating airports, majestic skyscrapers and various means of magnetic levitation, etc sponsored by General Motors which had sought to show a vision of the world twenty years ahead (1960).

The protagonist of the game this time is the little Hikaru who, after having inadvertently "shot" the super-intelligence helmets out of the laboratory, finds himself having to deal with an army of primates ready to conquer the world. In addition, we can go to the library and understand what type of use that hat can have. It is accompanied by melodies full of catchy motifs that are never obvious. Here the mechanics evolve, the world expands and with each level we learn more about this mysterious place. The story evolves with us and the next level brings new challenges. There is no single path here, only our will will lead us to continue or stop.  How far are you willing to go to discover all the secrets?
