It was certainly a journey as it's one of the few Indie games built by a single developer who truly wanted to create a fun and everlasting experience that encompasses the feeling of making you feel like you would want to stay in this universe forever, rather than to leave or continue forward to the end of the game. You don't want it to ever end or to cause harm in this simplistic world that feels more like a resting spot when you're done with all of your other games, after a hard days work, it'll be here for you waiting with a lot of dark secrets to be discovered around every nook and cranny.

Asteroarena: A Physics-Based Arcade Game That Will Test Your Limits

Ever played a game where your rocket never stops accelerating, there's no friction, and one wrong move sends you spiraling into an asteroid? Welcome to Asteroarena. Asteroarena is a physics-based arcade survival game for iOS where you pilot a rocket through an endless asteroid field. The rules are simple: survive as long as you can. But the physics? Brutally real. What Makes It Different? Unlike typical mobile arcade games, Asteroarena uses a real physics engine. Your rocket always accelerates forward, you never coast. Tap left or right to steer, but be warned: angular momentum builds with no cap, so spin too hard and you'll lose control entirely. There's no friction in space, and collisions with asteroids follow real inelastic physics. One bad bounce can fling you off-screen instantly. The difficulty never stops escalating. Asteroids spawn faster, grow larger, and hit harder the longer you survive. Your score climbs at 10 points per second, creating constant tension between playing it safe and pushing your limits. 6 Rockets, 6 Playstyles This isn't just a cosmetic shop. Each of the 6 rockets fundamentally changes how the game feels: - Starter: Balanced all-rounder to learn the ropes - Nimble: Light and agile, but gets knocked around easily - Speed Demon: Blazing acceleration, sluggish turning - Tank: Heavy and stable, resists impacts but moves slowly - Glass Cannon: Fast and agile, but featherweight, almost always dies on contact - Elite: The ultimate reward for dedicated players Customize Your Look Choose from 3 stunning maps: Deep Space, Nebula, and Volcanic Belt, each with unique asteroid aesthetics. Add personality with 6 thruster flame effects, from icy blue to a dark void absorption effect. Fair Free-to-Play Asteroarena respects your time and wallet. There are very few interstitial ads, and you can also watch rewarded ads for coins. IAP is purely for convenience. No pay-to-win mechanics, the leaderboard is based on pure skill. Compete Globally Game Center integration means global leaderboards and 22 achievements across survival milestones, score challenges, and collection goals. How long can you survive? Available now on iOS. Download Asteroarena and see if you can beat the void.

I have come across some lesser-known short indie games recently, and I really loved playing them.

The Legend of Tianding: This is a 2D side-scroller beat 'em up game with some RPG elements where you play as the historical figure Liao Tianding. This game unexpectedly turned out to be an indie masterpiece for me. With its engaging storytelling, charming protagonist, excellent portrayal of 1900's Taiwan, beautiful art style, unique and satisfying gameplay mechanics, interesting boss fights, great soundtracks, and multiple endings, the game excelled in many aspects. However, it had some unfair platforming sections and repetitive combat towards the end. Overall, the game's strengths outweighed its weaknesses, making it a remarkable experience that left me craving for more historically-inspired games of similar caliber.

Magic Cat Academy | Doodle Google Broswer

It is a doodle created specifically for the Google browser proposing some nice and short themed video games; this title was developed and distributed in 2016. Unlike the 2016 & 2020 titles, this chapter is set in the sky, but as you pass the various stages you will also arrive at the bottom of the ocean. The protagonist is a black cat who attends a magic school to refine her magical arts, but one day her spell book is stolen from her by the Boss Ghost and to defeat him she will be forced to overcome various challenges in five levels that take place in the school library, in a kitchen/cafeteria, in a laboratory/classroom, in a gym and on the tower/sky. These ghosts are defeated by tapping your fingers on the smartphone screen in certain directions, relative to the symbol at the top of the ghosts' heads.  Swipe directions include a horizontal line, a vertical line, a "v" shape, a "ʌ" shape, and a lightning bolt, most of which summon lightning bolts that weaken all enemies on the screen. Sometimes, drawing a heart will restore health. Momo's character is based on a real-life cat owned by video game art designer Juliana Chen. She also appears in the 2017 Google Doodle Halloween animated film and the Doodle Champion Island Games Google Doodle (2021).

Z.O.N.A. Shadow of Lemansk Redux | Android

The wonderful world we knew has disappeared due to the global conflict that has wiped out every sign of life, pushing humanity to the brink of extinction.  The vast majority of people have died due to the spread of toxins although only a few lucky individuals exist, all of whom converge on the Chernobyl zone in search of safe haven.  The living conditions here are particularly harsh and satisfy only the most basic needs to survive;  for those who survived, today is equivalent to the ancient Middle Ages.  Has been a long time.  Now in this world it is 2034. The younger generation growing up in the Residence wants a better life than their parents' generation.  Once again, however, danger threatens the Earth.  The temperature of the planet is constantly decreasing.  Everyone must seek refuge together, enter the underground tunnels that still exist from the era of bygone civilization.

Black Myth: Wukong 2D | Android

It's one of the biggest titles of the year so far and continues to inspire fanmade creations; the creator, has worked hard to bring this retro version to life, even staying up all night to fix bugs for the initial release. Experience that is headed in a completely different direction, creating a demo of the first chapter in 2D pixels, while the original is characterized by stunning graphics and engaging combat, instead, this pixel adaptation plays on the nostalgia of old-school arcade cabinets, similar to classics like Double Dragon. Again, this version may not have the stunning graphics of the original, but it offers something special: a simple and nostalgic revisitation of Wukong's epic adventure. And for those who are nostalgic for the days of pixelated side-scrollers, it's a small throwback to an era that many of us sixty-somethings still hold dear.

Silent Reverie | Android

It is a narrative-driven mobile experience developed by an emerging indie studio, designed to deliver a deep and emotionally immersive journey on Android and iOS devices. Blending psychological themes, exploration, and environmental puzzles, the game focuses more on storytelling and atmosphere than fast-paced action, offering players a reflective and meaningful adventure. 1) STORYLINE: The story follows a nameless protagonist who awakens in a mysterious world suspended between dream and reality. There are no immediate explanations or guidance—only silence, fragmented memories, and symbolic imagery scattered across haunting environments. As the narrative unfolds, players piece together the protagonist’s past through cryptic dialogues, environmental storytelling, and hidden clues. Each location represents a different emotional state: fear, regret, sorrow, and ultimately hope. Gradually, it becomes clear that the world itself is a manifestation of unresolved trauma, a mental landscape shaped by guilt and loss. The deeper you progress, the more personal and emotional the story becomes. Broken relationships, painful decisions, and a life-altering event are revealed layer by layer. The ending remains open to interpretation, yet it delivers a powerful emotional resolution that invites reflection long after the credits roll.

PSYCHOPOMP GOLD — IT ISN'T A SEQUEL SADLY

If you love it, support it. I didn't like it very much cause I was expecting something that wasn't just a slightly remastered version of the original. I'll still support the dev, I still like what the original had to offer and the rest of the content that was added in is sure to appeal to the die hard fans, but this wasn't for me and I don't think it would be for most people, who want more than the free version offers.

WINDBLOWN REVIEW - IT WILL BLOW YOU AWAY!

I haven't had this much fun with an Online Multiplayer Roguelike; these days, games like this are generally only available in Local Co-op, making it difficult to make new friends or play with anybody other than close pals in real life or through your friends list. It's fantastic to see the Dead Cells creators working on something entertaining! Consider following on other Social Media platforms for, Giveaways and more:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/3990570/The_Melty_Way/ Hello everyone! We’re two friends who always dreamed of making our own game. Today we can finally say mission accomplished, we get to share a first look at it with you. The demo for The Melty Way is now live and if you enjoy tight platformers with personality, we think you’ll have a blast playing The Melty Way. Our game looks cute, but don't be fooled, it definitely knows how to challenge both your reflexes and your big beautiful brain. The whole game revolves around size management. Your slime melts and shrinks whenever you move, jump or dash, but be careful because your size literally represents your health. Melt too much and you go SPLOOOOSHH bye bye. To grow bigger, you need food scattered around the levels, but it is limited, so you're going to have to do a diet because you can’t just snack on everything. The more you eat, the bigger you get. Big slime has more health and can activate heavy switches, but moves like someone after a leg day. Medium keeps things perfectly balanced as all things should be. Small is fast, snappy and perfect for precise platforming, but one mistake and you'll become a decorative puddle. Each size changes how you deal with puzzles, traps and movement, so deciding when to melt or when to eat becomes a crucial part of the strategy. We have a lot of handcrafted levels scattered across different environments. Each area brings its own special mechanics, surprises and new dangerous traps. Some levels lean into puzzles. Some push your speed and timing. Some mix everything together just to keep things interesting. And a few levels are us thinking outside the box to give you more unpredictable and diversified experiences. There’s also a small story woven through the game. It’s nothing overly complex, but you’ll meet a few warm characters during this somewhat lonely journey, each adding a bit of charm, guidance or humor along the way. A few parts of the world and its mysteries are left open to interpretation too, so you can read into things however you want as you explore. The game also features our own original music. Some tracks are chill, some are more energetic, depending on the environment and what the level is asking from you. We tried to shape every piece so it reflects the emotion and vibe we feel in those moments. Enjoy the soundtrack and let it carry you through the world as you play. The demo gives you a small taste of all that. It’s not too hardcore, just enough to give you a good feel of what the game is going to offer later. Try it out, play around with the movement and see how well you manage your size with the limited resources each level gives you. The full game release is planned for March 2026. Most of the content is already finished and we’re polishing everything until then to make the whole experience as smooth, fun and satisfying as possible. If you enjoy the demo, wishlisting helps us more than you might think. And if you want to show the game to a friend, we won’t complain. Thanks for being awesome. Have fun!

TOEM: A Photo Adventure | Android

This indie game combines creativity, curiosity, and photography. It's not your typical action or strategy title: you simply slow down and enjoy observing a beautifully hand-drawn black and white world. Everything revolves around taking photos, solving simple puzzles, and helping TOEM interact with the various characters you meet along the way. He transforms ordinary moments into meaningful experiences. We'll travel through enchanting regions—from silent forests to snow-capped mountains, and more—while using our camera to capture small wonders and help the eccentric villagers. Every photo we take enriches the journey, turning the camera into both a narrative tool and a means of progression. It stands out for its unique, black-and-white sketchbook style. Each environment is hand-drawn, full of small details that invite exploration. The minimalist approach enhances the calm atmosphere, and the diorama-like camera angle adds depth to each scene. There are no combats or time pressures here, just peaceful exploration and creativity.  It's perfect for gamers who prefer thoughtful, relaxing experiences over frenetic challenges.

YOU'RE MISSING OUT ON THESE HIDDEN GEMS!

If you love bullet-hell, great storytelling, and, of course, above all else, games that are free and very fun to play, than Wolfrush is a game you need to check out now! If you enjoy story-rich games with a diverse cast of vibrantly colored characters, Mondealy on the other hand is one of my all-time favorites. It was a casual game with no fighting, just a lot of walking and running around hugging cute boys, meeting people, and assisting them with their problems, as well as all the references, memes, and characters to other games and TV shows. There is so much to love about this, that isn't being appreciated.

THE APP ICON IS NOT ART - IT IS PSYCHOLOGY

Most indie devs try to make icons that “look cool.” I did the same for years, and it cost us thousands of downloads over time. The app icon has one purpose, and one purpose only: Trigger enough emotions so that the player clicks your listing. Here is a few things I learned about creating the perfect app icon: 1. Bright colors win Your App Icon competes with thousands of others, stronger colors will make your icon stick out. 2. Angry or Sad faces convert better than happy ones. This is something I actually learned from YouTube Thumbnail theory. In my old company we boosted visitors by 24% by JUST going from Happy -> Sad face. 3. Simplicity beats details The icon is so small so it is important that the icon isn't too cluttered. For Monkey King: Legend of Heroes, we first used a clean blue icon with our main character(see the image) Then we swapped it for a bright red icon with an angry Monkey King… Store listing visitors increased by 109% in one week. It is quite simple: your app icon is not a decoration. It is an emotional trigger that decides if someone will visit your store page or not.

VOIDIGO - JUST FEELS LIKE IT'S NOT AS FUN ANYMORE

Maybe it could just be a bit of a burnout streak. In that case it would only be my fault. But I would also blame the developers for not really thinking about the long term players, who have been playing since very early access when adding in new currencies. Retro Future Racing | Android

Back to the retro-futurist.. 📖 Historical Notes: In the fifties and sixties of the twentieth century we thought about the future in a much more optimistic way than in our times due to the economic boom that involved both America and Europe and thus the union of the terms "retro" and " futurism" with the need to be able to easily identify a whole series of works characterized by futuristic (or "futuristic") visions chronologically moved backwards with a retro taste not to be confused with cyberpunk which has despotic settings compared to the utopian retro-futurist One of the greatest technological visionaries, representative of this current, was probably Norman Bel Geddes, with his work "Futurama" with technological highways, underground parking lots, floating airports, majestic skyscrapers and various means of magnetic levitation, etc sponsored by General Motors which had sought to show a vision of the world twenty years ahead (1960).
