A fresh new take on a peaceful crafting RPG - Atelier Marie Remake Quick Review

PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? Play it if you love crafting or want to get into the Atelier series. Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist of Salburg is a new and improved version of the very first Atelier game. It feels a little light on features when compared to the latest games in the franchise, but it has a streamlined approach to alchemy that makes it a great jumping on point. I’m a longtime Atelier fan, and it felt awesome to go back to the series’ roots and see where it all began.

Final Fantasy XVI is everything a Final Fantasy game needs to be - Final Fantasy XVI Review

Since it arrived last month—heck, even since it was first revealed way back in 2020—one of the most oft-repeated opinions about Final Fantasy XVI has been that it doesn’t feel like a Final Fantasy game. After spending eighty hours with this latest entry in one of gaming’s biggest franchises, I can finally definitively respond to that opinion: Yes, Final Fantasy XVI doesn’t feel like a Final Fantasy

Ready to time travel? Reverse: 1999 is a sci-fi RPG with incredible battles and characters

SHOULD I PLAY REVERSE: 1999? Play it if you love JRPGs, card games, or vaguely human-shaped collectibles. Reverse: 1999 takes place in a world where time is moving backwards. You command a group of Arcanists, which are basically like time-travelers, that can survive the shift between eras and must fight to protect the future. The story has a nice mix of science fiction and fantasy elements, but it’s the lively cast of characters that really bring the setting to life. I really felt invested in the characters I controlled, and for me, that’s what takes an RPG from good to great.

Although, it needs some improvements in different areas of the game like bugs, glitches and fps drops. I would still say it is great with futuristic concepts and stuff, the game has huge potential, and different vibe than any other battle royale game.which makes the game so fun and addictive to play..I hope they make the improvements soon, to be able deliver the best experience for us, fans. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Batman Begins | Android_EMuPS2 ( ASUS Rogphone6pro )

It is faithfully inspired by the film of the same name by Nolan starring the Dark Knight, or Batman. Since he was a child, Bruce Wayne has lived with the fear of being the architect of his parents' death, an atavistic fear that has repercussions even in adulthood; for bats, fear is a sign of resilience. The same fear that he will put at the service of Gotham City to prevent other children from suffering like him because of rampant crime. Batman, does not fear rivals, since the first films, instills fear, fear and then real terror in his victims, so that at the moment of combat, he finds himself facing little more than frightened and often unarmed big men who are little able to respond to his blows. Everything is managed audiovisually through indicators that are sometimes difficult to read and much more explicit reproductions of a heartbeat, faster the greater the criminal's fear!  Stealth is nothing more than a sweetened version of Splinter Cell: to get behind the unsuspecting enemy and take him out otherwise we will be massacred in an instant by bursts of machine guns! The level design is cinematically beautiful to see so much so that there are numerous stages to explore so huge that it will take two hours to finish a single mission. Furthermore, there are three difficulty levels which guarantee a minimum challenge. I will tell you everything is made in an exceptional way and with great care, and in particular the polygonal model of Batman is impressive, very faithful to the film counterpart, equipped with an impressive number of animations, very fluid and convincing. Just look at the cape, how it moves, to be fascinated; the other main characters are also wonderful, Ducard and Jonathan Crane, Falcone and Agent Flass seem just like them. The graphics and sound are at very high levels.. and then let me say: The dubbing in Italian is state of the art.

Super Mario RPG is a must-play remake of one of the most nostalgia-packed SNES RPGs ever

SHOULD I PLAY SUPER MARIO RPG? That depends. Do you like feeling joy? Do you get a kick out of taking part in pure, unabashed, childlike glee and wonder? If yes, then duh, absolutely jump into the wonderful world of Super Mario RPG as soon as possible. But if you’re more of a Bowser-esque figure who prefers ruining the day for innocent toadlings, or if you prefer your RPGs avoid cracking jokes at all costs, then maybe this one just isn’t for you. Or maybe this will be the game that finally breaks through the thick, Grinch-esque barrier of cynicism and unhappiness you’ve surrounded yourself in. Who knows?

This is a love letter to RPGS of the past so if you don't like reading - turn back now otherwise carry on down memory lane (⌒‐⌒) As a dedicated fan since 1995, video games play a special place in my heart and I am passionate about sharing my knowledge, thoughts, and opinions on nostalgic retro titles. These games may look dated but without them most of the games you play now may never of existed without the inspiration and you owe it to yourselves to play these historic classics.

My Thoughts on Dragon Quest I + II HD‑2D and Dragon Quest III HD‑2D

I’ve been checking out the reviews and previews for the HD‑2D remakes of Dragon Quest I + II and Dragon Quest III, and after playing them, here’s my take in plain, casual player talk. ⸻ 1. Classic Feel Meets Modern Touch For me, the biggest charm of these HD‑2D remakes is being able to relive the nostalgia of the original games while enjoying modern conveniences and upgraded visuals. It’s like wearing your favorite old clothes made with better fabric and added pockets—familiar, but pleasantly surprising. In I + II, I was curious about how they’d spice up combat, especially since the original I was pretty basic. The previews mentioned multi-enemy battles, which really piqued my interest. At the same time, I was worried that too many changes might ruin the classic feel. III HD‑2D struck a better balance: keeping the simple, heroic adventure vibe while adding quality-of-life improvements like faster battles, auto-save, and voice acting. ⸻ 2. Story and Immersion If you’re used to complex stories, the simple plots here might seem “lightweight.” But I’ve come to appreciate the “simplicity is beauty” approach. The classics were always about the chosen hero, saving the world, and defeating the big bad guy. In I + II, especially I, the story is straightforward. Some players say, “Don’t expect anything deep—just defeat the enemies and save the world.” Adding small side quests or tweaking narrative pacing could boost immersion without losing the original charm. III offers a richer world, with job classes, day/night cycles, and exploration that give more freedom. Exploring this world and building a party still feels exciting. ⸻ 3. Combat and Systems Combat is a big deal for me. The remakes did a good job improving it. • In III, combat feels more flexible, and speeding up battles reduces grind fatigue. • The job system remains, and switching classes or combining skills is still engaging. • In I + II, introducing multi-enemy battles in I shows the developers’ willingness to rethink classic mechanics, which I really appreciate. Of course, some old-school limitations show up, like running repetitive encounters or grinding for levels, which can feel tedious at times. ⸻ 4. Visuals, Audio, and Art The HD‑2D style combines pixel characters with modern lighting, depth, and layered environments, giving the world more “weight.” III is widely praised as the most beautiful in the HD‑2D series. Monster animations, combat effects, shadows, and environmental lighting all add a nice touch. Music and sound effects are faithful to the originals but remastered with modern instrumentation, and the addition of voice acting makes key dialogues more immersive. ⸻ 5. Minor Gripes and Hopes Even though I enjoyed both remakes, here are a few things I hope could be improved: 1. Richer story / side content – More side quests or character interactions would make the world feel even more alive. 2. Deeper system complexity – For players who love strategy, class combos, and skill trees, more depth would be nice. 3. Random encounters – Some areas can feel grindy; fewer encounters or visible monsters could help. 4. Platform / performance optimization – Handheld versions should run smoothly, with minimal loading and good visuals. 5. Cross-save / upgrade options – I + II remakes currently lack cross-platform save support, which could be inconvenient for future hardware migration. ⸻ 6. Overall Thoughts Overall, these HD‑2D remakes are highly worth checking out, especially for nostalgic players or anyone who loves classic RPGs. • If you missed the originals, these remakes are an excellent entry point: modern visuals, smooth gameplay, and friendly mechanics. • If you’re a long-time fan, it’s rewarding to see the classics come to life while respecting the original vision. • If you prefer complex narratives or extremely deep systems, some parts might feel light—but the remakes strike a solid balance of classic charm and modern convenience. In short: Dragon Quest III HD‑2D feels like the most polished and mature entry in the series so far, while I + II HD‑2D is a bold attempt to modernize the classics. If you enjoy this type of game or classic RPGs, these remakes are definitely worth trying. I’d love to hear your thoughts if you’ve played them too 🙂

A mobile anime RPG without gacha? Ex Astris is a premium game with an addictive combat system

SHOULD I PLAY EX ASTRIS? If you have a phone powerful enough to run it, you should absolutely pick it up. Ex Astris is a brand-new mobile RPG from the creators of Arknights. It’s got everything you could want from an anime RPG—lovable characters, great combat, and a beautiful world—but there’s no gacha and no microtransactions. It’s refreshing to play a mobile title that’s not designed around monetization beyond the initial price to buy it, and if you’re into these kinds of games, it’s definitely worth paying for.

Explorer Ellen 3D | Android

Courage and resourcefulness in a small figure 📖 Storyline: Ellen is a courageous and determined adventurer who often undertakes journeys into the dangerous universe, but during her exploration she loses sight of her sister, Lia, who she always carries with her, kidnapped by ferocious monsters.  Her ultimate goal is to find her and take revenge for this affront! 🎮 Gameplay: It's not the classic puzzle game characterized by exploration and action but a real inner journey!  It is very important to point out that the heroine here only has three lives!  If they are all lost, we will have to start the passage from the last checkpoint of which there are very few to allow us to explore and think about what to do to access new areas.  It features a huge number of iconic locations (who doesn't remember the Startreck crew's adventures on new planets?), very interesting and beautiful settings with bright colors where monsters constantly roam.  As she lands on a new planet she'll be armed with her trusty guns and a strong will, facing countless obstacles and challenges along the way, including treacherous terrain and deadly traps.  Despite the many dangers that await her she remains resolute and determined to save her sister, whatever the cost to her!  With her courage and strength we will also embark on an adventure within ourselves as she will test our limits and push us to the limit of our capabilities to overcome dynamic platforms and acid lakes with mammoth monsters.

Calling all Undertale fans! Atlas Wept is a quirky pixel art RPG about empathy and robot dogs

SHOULD I PLAY ATLAS WEPT? If you’re a fan of EarthBound, Undertale, and other quirky turn-based RPGs, this is definitely a title you should take a look at. Atlas Wept is a pixelated RPG with strong retro vibes. The story alternates between two distinct casts of characters as they embark on a strange adventure. The groups haven’t crossed paths quite yet in my playthrough, but I suspect they’ll run into each other eventually. There’s a free demo available on Steam, so if this game has sparked your curiosity, you should definitely give it a try.

Having a good time with this one. Aside from the obivious srpg style that ressembles Final Fantasy Tactics in the character structure (doesn't got job change, but can equip reaction and action skills), it contains two main gameplays: 1) the 1st one is the basic structure that you see in a lot of gacha games, where you select a stage, spent energy and battle your way in this part of the campaign, along side all others gacha strucutures so far (upgrades and such);

The missing content in Persona 3 Reload is really bumming me out

When Persona 3 made its debut in 2006, it definitely didn’t feel like an incomplete game. The main story was around eighty hours long, and if you dug into its side content, you could easily play for a hundred hours or more. Then came FES, an extended edition of the game with thirty-plus hours of additional content, including a brand-new ending. Later on came Persona 3 Portable, an abridged, handheld version with a brand-new female protagonist.

Nepa Saga | Android

We will take on the role of Ekaa a humble blacksmith who became a legendary warrior to save his land: Nepal; it is a surprising city, which in some ways seems to have remained unchanged from the Middle Ages just like in the mobile title. It takes inspiration from the eastern Himalayas with intricate temples, busy city streets and imposing mountain peaks all faithfully reproduced with the UE5 graphics engine and being an RPG we will face fearsome enemies: the cunning Ghyak, the weaver Mohini and the terrifying Hima.

Zenless Zone Zero is like Persona!? [Reaction and Evaluation]

This is truly surprising. I'm not a huge admirer of MiHoYo and their work, but reaching out to players that are specifically enamored with Persona and it's atmosphere in terms of bonding, gameplay, and music / story is a refreshing change of pace that hopefully result in fresh new concepts from other developers willing to reach out. It's difficult to suppose it wouldn't, given that the game has already gathered over 10 million pre-registered users in several months, and has undoubtedly risen even higher since its recent showcase and announcement.
