Here's the full review of One Piece: Fighting Path for Android in one place, including the plot, gameplay, developer, and control details. It's a 3D RPG exclusive to the Chinese market for Android/iOS. I'm currently on vacation in China and took the opportunity to play it! It's based on the popular manga and anime series One Piece by Eiichiro Oda. It was developed by China Mobile Games and Entertainment Group (CMGE) and published by Nuverse (ByteDance).
1) STORYLINE: The narrative is faithful to the One Piece anime. Here, Monkey D. Luffy leaves the village of Foosha to become the Pirate King, exploring iconic regions like East Blue and the Grand Line, and meeting famous characters and fighting enemies from the series. It combines narrative moments with side quests, NPC interactions, and real-time combat, emphasizing immersion and fidelity to the original story.
2) GAMEPLAY: Includes exploration in a semi-open 3D world, where you can walk, sail, and interact with environmental objects. The combat system is dynamic and real-time. Full native support for Bluetooth controllers or physical pads is not officially guaranteed; it is designed for touchscreens only. Teams are made up of three characters, each with unique abilities, special attacks, and their own skill tree, allowing you to customize your idol's growth. It uses gacha mechanics to obtain new characters and upgrade them through levels, equipment, and skills. Game modes include:
a) The main story, following the canonical narrative arc from East Blue onward;
b) PvE challenges, with missions/combats against AI enemies, including boss fights and special challenges;
c) PvP/Arenas, allowing you to battle with real gamers or face opponents in dedicated arenas;
d) Timed events, with seasonal rewards;
While these modes are available, it remains heavily focused on PvE and story, unlike the less developed PvP and multiplayer.
3) GAMEMODES: It's a semi-open-world 3D game, meaning you can walk around, sail a boat, and interact with characters and environmental objects. During missions, you can find hidden objects and talk to NPCs to unlock activities and events. The battle system is dynamic and real-time, with direct character control: a virtual joystick on the left and action buttons on the right. You can form teams of up to three iconic characters, all of which can be controlled simultaneously. Furthermore, it uses a "rock-paper-scissors" system to effectively control character and enemy skills, so be strategic about your team. There are many playable characters (Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, etc.), each with their own unique abilities.
4) GRAPHICS: It's beautifully crafted in 3D, with fluid animations and settings faithful to the anime.
5) SOUNDTRACK: The voice acting is original, and the soundtrack adds to the immersion.
In short, it's one of the most complete mobile experiences for fans of the series, combining story, real-time combat, and strategic gacha mechanics.
