2023 was one of the best years for new video games ever. Can 2024 possibly compare? It’ll be tough, but there are a ton of games either confirmed or likely to launch this year that we are unbelievably excited for. In fact, even just cutting the list down to forty was a challenge. During this week-long event, you can try out hundreds of free demos for upcoming games, There's an incredible selection available, from flashy first-person shooters to terrifying horror titles to some of the cutest cozy games you've ever seen. Struggling to figure out what to download first? The TapTap staff has played through more than a hundred demos to find the best of the bunch. Steam Next Fest runs until February 13th, so make sure you try out these demos before it ends!

SHOULD I PLAY PACIFIC DRIVE? Definitely play this game if you’re into paranormal settings, looting and crafting, or if you just like the idea of driving around in a car you have to build and maintain on your own. Pacific Drive has been the number one indie on my list since I saw the first trailer last year. Now that I’ve played through the Steam Next Fest demo, I’m champing at the bit to get back in the driver’s seat of my beat-up station wagon and explore further into the Olympic Exclusion Zone.
