At first, I thought this would be yet another card battle RPG, But so far, the graphics are good, the visuals are pretty nice, and the gameplay is good. It's not really mind-blowing, but good... really good.
I must be honest though, I haven't played that Roguelike RPG prior to playing this, so I was a bit out of my usual comfort zone for video games. However, I had fun. The mechanics were simple and easy to understand, and the graphics were nice. It is very beginner-friendly, so quite good for new players.
That being said, this is still in early access, so it does feel quite lacking overall. However, this makes me even more excited on what the completed game might look like.

This game takes a pretty well played out genre(roguelike being in the format of one of the very first RPGs, Rogue) and brings in a new, simple but entertaining system of play that is very refreshing, very unique, and very entertaining for sure. I wish there was more character customization, but all in all a solid game

I'm not a fan of the art style, which doesn't have black lines or borders - I've seen that style in a lot of cheap cartoons over the last 20 years, and I can't stand it. The concepts behind the character designs were good, however. This game doesn't seem to have much of a storyline, which is a deal breaker for me; I prefer to only play games with storylines and strong narratives, I came into this game pretty blind, but I thought that I read that this game was advertised as an RPG, so I was expecting something with more of a narrative storyline experience. Instead, the game seems to be a roguelike, with paper-thin storytelling used almost as window dressing - roguelikes certainly have a fanbase, but they usually just end up leaving me unfulfilled.

After an hour or so of playing, here are my thoughts: Gameplay - it's solid. All the essentials that make a roguelike "roguelike" are presented: power-ups, gears, pets, etc etc. I went with Kitana and an Ice gears/Crit build and honestly I tear shit up. The 2 gripes I have currently is the responsiveness of the buttons and the stunlock. About thrice I took unnecessary damage because I pressed the button but she didn't initiate the attack and it finally cost me the run on the 3rd time.
