Hello, fellow TapTap community members! You may or may not have seen my name attached to some of the content you’ve read here in the last few months. I’ve been around sharing my love of games on TapTap for over six months now, but I haven’t had an opportunity to properly introduce myself, so let me do that now.
My name is Philip, but you can call me by my TapTap user name, Kef. I’m the chief editor here. That means that I work with our tiny but talented group of writers, including @JB, @StaggerLee, and @Jay Hunter, to help bring curated reviews, opinion pieces, and other cool projects to the TapTap community. Since I started this team up earlier this year, we’ve published dozens of articles and hopefully helped point all of you towards lots of awesome new mobile games. We’re not going to be slowing down that process anytime soon, but we are implementing some big changes across TapTap that I wanted to take a moment to tell you about. You may have already noticed the biggest change: We’re expanding the scope of TapTap to include console and PC games.
This huge shift has already started over the past couple weeks. As with mobile games, we’re going out of our way to cover both the big, triple-A games you already know about—like Sony’s blockbuster Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, gross-out horror title Scorn, or the Square Enix tactical RPG Triangle Strategy—and to bring attention to lesser-known games from smaller teams or independent developers that may go under the radar—stuff like creepy point-and-click thriller The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow, the ’80s nostalgia-laden Unusual Findings, or the latest Vampire Survivors clone out in early access, Crimson Dawn. If you have come to enjoy TapTap as a place that provides information on and access to mobile games, please don’t worry! We won’t be suddenly ignoring that platform. You’ll still be able to turn to us for details on major mobile releases like Torchlight Infinite, Undecember, and Call of Duty Mobile, and we’ll also continue looking for the best hidden gems on Android and iPhone to share with all of you.
The point is not that we’re moving away from mobile games; it’s that we’re opening up TapTap to be a fully-featured community for all gamers, regardless of your platform of choice. If you mostly play games on your phone and want to keep up with the latest news and updates for the games you care about, we’ll still offer that. And if you also enjoy games on your PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, or PC, now you’ll be able to find gamers and game recommendations for those as well!
As we continue this project, we’ll be introducing plenty of new tools and features to TapTap that will help you keep track of the games, platforms, and genres that you care about. As those get added to our app and website, I’ll write more posts like this to let all of you know about the changes. And if you have ideas on what you’d like to see added to TapTap in the future, leave a comment and let us know! I can’t promise that we’ll be able to fulfill every request right away, but we’re always listening to the community and looking to make this the best experience it can be for all of you.
I know that change can be scary, and some of you like TapTap just fine the way it is. Just remember that our goal isn’t to push anyone away, but rather to open this awesome community up to even more people, so gamers across platforms and across the world can come together to share the games, screens, videos, and ideas that make them love this medium so much! I hope that you'll stick with us and keep showcasing what you're passionate about.
I’m excited and grateful to be a small part of TapTap’s next chapter and to see how we grow from here alongside this amazing community. Onward and upward!
I was wondering if there will be some kind of points that users could earn in order to buy some games like taptap exclusive without spending any money. It would make user interaction much more pleasant. I hope there will some good pc games that I can play.

I don't know if we will have a point system like you're suggesting, but we definitely want to do more giveaways and prizes and hopefully eventually begin working with the developers of cool PC games to give the community access to demos and betas the same way we do with mobile titles! Look for some really awesome contests coming in the very near future.

I like how you and your team is devoted to make TapTap a big gaming hub, but one feature that I miss very much is translation in comments. Sometimes I come across a game and want to see what other people see, there are some comments but they are in another language like Chinese or japnese etc but I am a English speaker so it's tough for me to understand what they are saying, I have to go and translate all that in Google translate. so please add that feature

This is a really great point! One of the things I really love about TapTap is that it's a global platform, and we get visitors from all around the world. I'll make sure this request is sent to my colleagues!

Not what we want to see. need to add an tab or filter only for mobile

Hey Paulo! We are absolutely working on tools that will allow users to filter to specific platforms and even specific genres they want to explore. That's not my role specifically, so I can't make any promises about when they'll be implemented, but I know the goal is to get them in as soon as possible.
