Any games that you’ve been thinking about buying during the currently live Steam autumn sale? I’m gonna try VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action this weekend, which is a cyberpunk vibe story-driven game kindly recommended by Gaskter, who nominated the game in the #GameswithaGreatStory community event. “It’s one of my favorite games of all time,” said she in her review. My special interview with Gaskter was carried out via Google Form, which contains a list of questions that I’m personally curious about. As a barista and freelance photographer, Gaskter is pretty busy with her work, which doesn’t seem to take away her love for gaming. “I like video games in any form and also binge watching,” she said, though she later clarified a bit in the next question, which invites her to use a word or sentence to describe herself, “I’m maybe getting too old for all of this lol. I have money to spend on games now, but not the time to actually play them.”
Gaskter mostly plays games on PC but is also currently playing on consoles for some exclusive titles. She's happy to try all kinds of different games in different genres, but is always attracted by first-person shooter or open-world games. Including the VA-11 Hall-A mentioned earlier, Gaskter listed out some of her favorite titles, like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Team Fortress 2. She's been playing the recent hit God of War Ragnarök as well. Since mobile games are pretty convenient to play these days, especially considering her busy working schedule, Gaskter is also quite into mobile games lately.
Unlike many who were basically led into the world of gaming by mobile games, Gaskter grew up playing games on PlayStation, enjoying titles including GTA, Guitar Hero, Resident Evil, and Metal Gear. “My first game console was an NES, and the very first game I had was Duck Hunt and Super Mario Bros.” She started to play PC games when she first got into high school, and the very first games she played on PC were Warcraft, Call of Duty, and Point Blank. “I’m not able to spend that much time playing games anymore. That’s just the price of growing up I guess.” Gaskter usually gets home from work at midnight. Even so, she would still squeeze out some time for gaming before going to bed (”it’s bad for health,” she added.) She's also planning to write more nice game reviews on TapTap lately, and hopefully that won’t make her go to bed at a later time.
“Time to mix drinks and change lives.” Gaskter quoted this line from Jill in VA-11 Hall-A in her previous review of this game. Though not really a bartender herself (but she’s a barista, I see no difference lol), she’s definitely witnessed a bunch of great stories, not matter in games or real life, via a nice photograph or simply a cup of coffee. And I do envy her about that.
