Well, not gonna lie, this game felt like a doozy.
But before I go in further detail I gotta say first that this game is still on Early Access, so you're gonna see a few bugs here and there, like some uncomplete animations, some soft locks and so on, but from what I've seen they deal with the bugs fairly quickly when they get reported, so I'm pretty sure by the time they fully launch it, which they say it will be approximately in about a year, pretty much all the bugs will be gone by then and most likely a lot more improvements and more content I'm guessing.
And another thing I'm gonna point out, the translation is not the best, but from what I heard they already did a lot of improvements over the demo and they say that they will eventually get a professional translator, so for now from what I've seen it's a little rough around the edges with some grammar issues but that shouldn't be a problem for long.
But now that I finally got that out of the way let's finally talk about the actual game.
The story. I have to say it's quite unique from what I usually play because it goes so many different ways based on your choices, what stats your characters have, and most bizzare, how lucky you are. And besides that, this game doesn't even have a main story, it's module based.
And to add a little more bizzarness to it this game also seems very inspired by the game Call of Cthulhu (which is a quite strange but awesome game), so of course this story goes how you have to keep this new Universe from being manipulated Outer Gods and Great Ones and other elderlich like creatures. But the thing is you cannot actually be with the universe itself, so you have no other option but to take other identities so that you can investigate the sources of all the problems in your timeline and intervene with whomever is influencing it.
Now, the gameplay is actually pretty neat, as I told you a bit about the story. Your job will be to investigate what or who is influencing the timeline by creating a new identity with whatever stats you like but depending on what stats and play-style you choose it will lead you to different endings. In a way, this game also resembles a table top game or at least that is what it feels like to me, hence the rolling dice system (aka the luck system that I was talking about), so depending if your rolls succeed the game might take a different path with the story. But that what makes the game kinda neat it's because it has a lot of replayability.
And the art, not gonna lie, I always have a little soft spot for pixel games so of course I like the artstyle, I liked the anime like character designs the most, but every location and scenery was very beautiful.
So if you're into Investigation, Story Rich games with some Tabletop sprinkled on it, I'm pretty sure you're gonna like this game, cas I'm not into those genres that much and I still liked it.
