OuterPlane - A FANTASTIC Anime Hero Collector RPG!

OuterPlane is a recently released anime hero collector gacha game that I had me interested almost immediately. Gameplay wise you play as K, a young boy who was summoned to this fantasy world and at first are helping a princess I believe, to stop the end of their world. But after a major early twist, his mission goes to more of a revenge story to get back at those who betrayed his trust.

When downloading the game, I was only given the option to install English voice overs, so sadly there is no Japanese or any other voice language pack available in this game. The story content plays off like a visual novel, something very common in anime style hero collector gacha games, but sadly the story content is not voice acted at all, not even simple words are said during these scenes.

The in game cinematics however are much more interesting and those are fully voice acted. They are also played out within the games engine, so no CGI cinematics here, or anime cinematics. It's all done in the in game 3D engine, which at max graphics and at 60fps looks pretty nice. Combat is turn based, and you can hold down on the skill to find out what they do exactly.

Every heroes third skill is an animated cut scene ultimate skill, which can be very fun to watch. Auto combat is unlocked at 1-5 as well as 3x speed if you really want to get fast on the progression. When choosing your party, if you pair 2 heroes of the same element, they will gain an elemental synergy benefit. There are 5 battle type heroes in the game, These are Strikers, Defenders, Mages, Healers, and Rangers.

While in combat you can earn points that go towards your link combo skill button. If you can accumulate enough points to fill up the link combo skill button you can activate it, causing your 4 party members to combo off each other for devastating results. This ability is unlocked after completing chapter 1-10. Action Points are gained through battle. When you gain enough AP you can cast powerful spells to boost your heroes skills.

Completing an area will give you 3 types of rewards as you progress. Including Ether, which is the premium summoning currency. There are 7 Dungeon types available in the Challenge mode area. Bounty Hunter is for Gold, Bandit Chase is for food, Upgrade Stone Retrieval is for upgrade stones, Special Request: Ecology Study is for Armor, Special Request: Identification is for weapon and accessories, The Archdemons Ruins is for Talismans, Skill Manuals, and Gear Enhancement Materials. And the Skyward Tower is where you can get various resources as you climb the towers levels.

At the moment I can only do the Bounty Hunter and Bandit chase dungeons, the rest are still to be unlocked. Side stories can be done a limited time each day. Completing a side story will provide you with hero shards. Hero shards are used to transcend heroes to higher ranking and power. While you can level up your heroes from just doing quests, that is pretty slow. You can speed up the leveling process by feeding them food. More food, is more experience to their levels. Follow the Guide Quest to give you an idea on where to go next in your progression. Completing your guide quest provides you with plenty of items like Ether and gear for example.

Something I thought that was pretty cool was the fact that you can choose up to 3 heroes in your lobby, and you can move them around and resize them too. So you can showcase your favorite waifu or husbando on your main screen so you can idolize them as much as you like. You can build your trust with your heroes by giving them gifts. If you max out their trust you can obtain specific equipment for that hero. There is a Gacha in the game, you can recruit 1 free hero a day. Gacha also has a x10 selective summon.

You can keep summoning until you get the hero you like thats available on the selective summon screen. I highly suggest looking at a tier list to get the one you think could be the best. Or just pick whichever you think looks cool. The game does provides plenty of Ether in the early stages of the game. I'd suggest saving your ether for a highly sought after hero if you're free to play and the current hero isn't that good. Visually I'd say that the game is absolutely stunning. With gorgeous anime style 3D graphics and smooth 60fps available for the devices that can handle it.

The game really does look fantastic. The 3D in game engine cutscenes are gorgeous too, and I'm thankful for those being voice acted... If only the rest of the story content was too. Overall I'd say that OuterPlan is one of those hero collector games you should be playing. The character designs are gorgeous, and there does seem to be a somewhat decent balance between waifus and husbandos compared to other games of the same genre. I will definitely keep playing this one, and I highly recommend you giving it a try. It's definitely worth it.
