Rise of Cyber is an interesting game, set in a cyberpunk city. With cyborg people to interact with and collect, I really thought this was going to be an interesting game and I was very happy with what I experienced. The Story is set in a cyberpunk setting and while the story cinematics aren't voice acted the video cinematics have voice acting but the voice acting doesn't always match the subtitles. The basic premise from what I can tell is that You and your 2 friends didn't pass the final test and while you may have failed, you take to the streets to fight corroded in order to save the people.
The corroded are victims who have been infected with the corrosion virus. You must stop them at all costs. After your first unplanned mission to save the citizens from the corroded, you pass the test and can now become Vanguards. Combat is turn based, but you cannot give your team direct actions all the time. They will auto attack until they gain enough tactic points. Once the tactic points bar is full, you will enter tactics mode.
Each tactic skill costs a different amount of tactic points. You can queue up as many tactic skills as you like, as long as you have enough tactic points for them. You can also focus your attacks on a specific target or let the game choose for you. Certain skills can be upgraded in combat, when you do you can cast a powerful skill that comes with an animated cut scene. There is an auto combat feature, and this gets unlocked after reaching chapter 2.
The auto combat feature will make all the tactical choices for you. There is also a x2 speed feature as well, to speed things along for you, if you like. So if you really don't care too much about the tactical side of things, you can turn on the auto combat feature if you like. The R&D department is unlocked in the late part of chapter 2, this is a dungeon like area where you can get a lot of tac data for upgrading your skills.
You can choose to farm tac data dungeons in the R&D building for the various class types you own. These do cost your stamina though, so make sure you keep an eye on it if you don't want to spend it all in there. The out of combat gameplay has a narrative and you can tap the quest log to have your main character auto path their way to various NPC's in order to do tasks that the quest log asks of you. You can send your team mates to the doctor where they can rework you if you have the materials.
Your reworked team mate will not only look different, but their power in combat will also be boosted. The materials needed to rework your team can be found in main story contentThe characters can be leveled up with materials you gather, and when they reach a level gate, you must break through that gate, which costs secured coins and exceed plates in order to keep leveling them up. Your skills can also be leveled up too, though the skills require tac codes in order to level them up. If that all sounds a bit too complicated, you can always just hit the "Quick Level Up" Feature in order to do it all automatically.
The Gacha lets you summon one time for free. There is a self selection recruitment suummon, but this requires 99 more reconstructs to use. The permanent recruitment option requires you to have a total of 3000 comp cores to summon 10 times. And the Desire Recruitment requires 199 more times of reconstruct in order to use it. Sadly there is no re-roll feature in this game. The visusal in this game are absolutely stunning.
With gorgeous 3D graphics that can be turned up to the maxiumum settings, and with 60fps capability, this game will look fantastic on all high end devices that can handle the maximum graphics that this game has to offer. Combined with the awesome ultimate animations that the characters can pull off, all combines for an impressive visual performance from this game. The music is also pretty cool too, and is definitely suitable for the Cyberpunk aesthetic. I also love the backgrounds for the combat settings.
They all look very immersive and fit the style of the game too. I also have to mention the artwork in the loading screens, those too are amazing to look at. Thankfully you can see all the artwork and screenshot it when you unlock the database and go to the "Original Pic Archive"Overall I'd say that Rise of Cyber is a surprisingly good game and I think that the visuals and the gameplay are great to look at and is super fun to play. I am honestly blown away by how good the game looks, and the gameplay as well is really very good. The voice acting may not be the best however, and the cinematics may not be that great either, but the combat, and the ultimate animation cut scenes are very nice. If you love your gacha games and the cyberpunk aesthetic, than this is probably the game you should be playing. I know I will be playing it more, that's for sure.
