Introducing 'Heaven Dust': a spooky homage to Resident Evil
28K View2023-06-05Imagine this: As soon as you regain consciousness, you find yourself in a cramped storage room, with heavy footsteps and beast-like growls coming from outside. The building, disguised as an ordinary mansion, has turned into a deadly maze filled with zombies and strange mechanisms.
What will you do to survive?
Hey guys! This is One Gruel Studio and we are happy to present Heaven Dust at TapTap’s Pocket Play Fest. We are actually a mini-team of just two people: Zhou Zhijie, in charge of game design and art, and Guo Xu, responsible for programming.
Fueled by our shared love for survival horror games, we decide to create a game that pays homage to the Resident Evil series.
At that time, many of the "Resident Evil" games under Capcom had started leaning towards mainstream action shooter gameplay, gradually diluting or even abandoning the earlier classic survival decryption concepts. As die-hard fans, we hoped to draw inspiration from the design of the early Resident Evil series, while considering the preferences of today's players. We aimed to create a new game on contemporary platforms that captures the flavor of classic survival horror games. And that's how Heaven Dust came to life.
"Heaven Dust" is all about that awesome Resident Evil vibe! An evil high-tech company unleashes a zombie virus, and guess what? You're right in the middle of the chaos! Explore, stay stealthy, and fight off the undead. Collect resources, solve mind-bending puzzles, and uncover dark secrets to escape alive.
Don't be fooled by the cute art—there's just enough spookiness to keep you on your toes. Get ready for adrenaline-pumping moments during puzzle-solving and enjoy the variety of combat. We've crafted original brain-teasing puzzles, making Heaven Dust accessible to everyone, whether you're new to survival horror or a casual gamer. Get ready to dive in and have a blast!

You wake up in a mansion, a former research center that has now transformed into a labyrinth teeming with menacing zombies and treacherous traps. In order to survive, you must face these dangers, gather items, solve puzzles, all while revealing a mysterious storyline that unfolds gradually as they explore the mansion and uncover hidden documents and diaries. The narrative is intriguing, as players piece together the events that led to the mansion's current state and their own presence within it. While the story is not overly complex, it provides enough motivation to drive players forward

#One of the best I've ever played.
It's been a long time sinceI played survivor horror games but now, I can comfortably say Heavenly Dust 2 has rekindled my interest by returning to the genre's roots. With engaging gameplay and clever puzzles challenging players to conserve resources in a zombie-infested world, this sequel surpasses its predecessor with refined combat, a wider variety of enemies, and exceptional world design.
