Kenmono Friends Kingdom has officially had its global release today July 13, 2023. The game has your typical rich RPG hero collecting elements but the combat system is very different. The best way to compare it would be an angry birds style launcher system. You will be launching your girls into battle. Having direct impact with an enemy will yield you more damage done but even if you miss they still go and attack the enemy. Each character also has a special skill that you can activate before you launch them which varies between dealing damage, healing your team, or supplying buffs like increase atk or def.

I absolutely love the combat system because it brings something different as opposed to the turn-based combat we typically see with hero collecting gacha games. The game has a lot of nice cinematic moments from the story cut scenes to the animations of the special skills being activated. The beginning of the game is rather slow with way too many tutorials. Some of the tutorials are useful and good but most of them go over basic features that feel dragged out. An example is having 2 levels dedicated to teaching a player how to use a healer, then how to use a girl that increases your attack, then one that increases your def. It could of easily all been added into one battle level so the player could experience the more challenges levels sooner and have more freedom.

The difficulty of the game I think is balanced well aside from the annoyingly slow 1st chapter tutorial. After you get through it the game really starts to pick up and become fun and strategic. The levels start to introduce new elements to the battlefield adding a exciting gameplay experience. The pull rates for the girls in the summoning system are more generous than other gacha games. The pay 2 win shop is present but not entirely needed to progress through the game. Overall, I had a lot of fun playing it and recommend it to anyone who enjoys these hero collecting RPG games.

I just downloaded this and was pleasantly surprised. The characters are fun and the battles are different enough to be interesting for now. I'm gooing to play it a bit more but so far it's a cute fun little game.
