MY TAPTAP CLOUD GAMING EXPERIENCE
Terrible.
TapTaps' new service, enables users to transmit DEMOs directly to their mobile devices from a virtual computer rather than directly installing them and taking up space, it's very intuitive but the functionality that is currently being implemented here just doesn't seem to function well because it's a PC game being streamed to Mobile.
When I say "Unoptimized" for the game service, I mean that while it is possible to play to some extent, you will not make significant progress due to the following issues.
A recurring issue I observed in a number of these games that accept more than two inputs is that features are either absent or they overlap because of the ability to tap the screen directly, a lot of these features hide or prevent input on important things.
Wild Legion is a tower defense and upgrading game in which, upon acquiring new structures and weapons, you must upgrade them in order to progress. To upgrade towers, however, requires you to tap the screen directly; however, doing so induces forward dodging; thus, it is possible to upgrade a tower; however, only after depleting the available dodges stockpiled.ย
The exact same could be said regarding weapon upgrades. To press accept, you cannot hold your finger down and move it up. You must set down your device and then touch it with another finer while holding down the weapon in order to upgrade it. However, eventually the device ceases to function entirely, rendering it impossible to do so. You can still purchase items, but you will inevitably perish without armaments.
Bear in mind that the game is not being played on your device it is being streamed directly to your device, so a lot of these elements are not properly structured for this type of gameplay, especially for those with a lot of input.
As soon as a great deal of activity commenced, the game quality on my Samsung Galaxy S9+, which features UHD and strong Wi-Fi connectivity, would rapidly deteriorate into a pixelated chaos. This usually means the connection isn't really supporting up to 6000+kbps or high end enough to process all of the effects.
WHAT IS THE CLOUD GAMING EXPERIENCE?
TapTap will initiate this event following its launch on December 23, 2023 ending on January 7th 2024. Indie Developers have the opportunity to exhibit their work to the TapTap community where users are able to vote for the titles they enjoyed the most.
Those who are acquainted with the June-introduction of the Pocket Playfest should not find this particularly unexpected as it was a very well received event!
The unique aspect of this event is that these games have not been made available for mobile; therefore, you will have the exclusive opportunity to play them here first!
How it works
This format is a double tournament in which participants have the opportunity to play (2) games and vote on their preferred game daily for an entire week. The game that receives the most votes will advance to the championship round.
Rewards
You really do not want to pass up this opportunity due to the cumulative value of the prizes which include 5 grand totals of $1,000 each, in addition to a Steam Deck and 3 Elite Xbox controllers, are things that will be awarded. Absolutely insane!
Competing Games
While the complete list of games to be exhibited is unknown, specific games such as the one presented here will be among the limited number.
Global Event
Despite the fact that this is a global event, this service will only be accessible in the United States and Canada to guarantee that participants have an exceptionally seamless experience devoid of 400-500 latency.
Overview
WILD LEGION is a very unlikely mix of games combined into one, that being your average Action Roguelike and some visual aesthetics combined. The concept that the game is not good enough is not the issue at hand. The idea of having a game that is based off of a series of games that are (unpopular opinion) not really interesting.
Graphics & Presentation
Not a single thing about this has anything particularly interesting. The obviously evident design of the characters fits well with the style for DON'T STARVE and a lesser bullet-hell feel to that of BROTATO, but it also does not really complement the rest of the game's aesthetic, as in, if the style of was redone to actually fit the games design a bit more, I feel like it wouldn't look so weird and could focus on other things.
The single soundtrack that plays on an endless loop will, without a doubt, become incredibly bothersome and will eventually get under your skin. It's just not enjoyable.
Gameplay
The minimal amount of time required for some quick action roguelike gameplay is thirty minutes, and if you appreciate games in which the primary objective is to begin weak and grow stronger, then you will enjoy this game for a short amount of time.
I can see appeal in this, but the addition of towers and the requirement to maintain them is a little bit frustrating. It just seems like it adds nothing special to the mix, and it has a very annoying micromanagement that isn't fluid with transitions, which means that it will take some time for you to just pause the game and build/repair towers, until you get familiar with the controls. However, I felt like the previous way of handling these upgrades was great, until they patched it to this new feature.
It is possible to activate a feature that would automatically construct towers; however, this does not feel good either. This is because you will not be able to manage the placement of the towers, which is an altogether different problem.
Conclusion
The way that this game has chosen to handle some of the unnecessary additions to this genre is not something that I particularly enjoyed. There is no way I could declare that I am a huge fan of either BROTATO or DON'T STARVE.
Once you've put in a several hundred hours of time into them, it just doesn't feel like a good combination, even though they were entertaining games when they were first introduced, they eventually lose their appeal and become less enjoyable.
was this made by a baby? everything just feels stolen or made by a ant. the backround, the song, the gameplay.
